The Footer element in Email Builder makes it easy to add professional, branded footers to your email templates. You can customise the footer with your business details, important links and styling that matches your brand. You can also control where it shows up and preview how it looks on different devices before you send your emails.

What is the Footer element in Email Builder?

The Footer element is a ready-made content block that you can add to the bottom of your emails. It gives you a handy place to show essential business information, such as your company name, contact details, copyright notice and unsubscribe link.

Instead of building a footer from scratch, you can drag and drop the element into your email template. Then customise its content and look in the Email Builder.

Footer customisation and visibility options

The Footer element includes design and visibility controls that help you shape how it looks and behaves. Knowing these options makes it easier to create a footer that matches your email design and shows up correctly for your recipients.

Note: The available customisation settings, and where you find them, may vary slightly between the Standard, AI and Design editors.

  • Content and Typography: Edit text, add hyperlinks, and customise fonts, sizes, colours and alignment.

  • Colors and Spacing: Adjust background colours, text colours, padding and spacing to create a balanced design.

  • Borders and Dimensions: Customise borders, height, width and other supported styling options.

  • Device-Based Visibility: Choose whether the footer appears on desktop, mobile or both.

  • Conditional Sending: Show or hide the footer based on contact field values, such as the contact's country.

How to use the Footer element in email templates

Adding the Footer element gives you a consistent spot for business information and important links. Customising its content, look and visibility helps your footer fit your email design and stay easy to read on any device.

  1. Log in to your ZipLeads account and go to Marketing → Emails → Templates.

  2. Open an existing email template or click + New to create a new one. Depending on the options available, you can start with a blank template, use a template from the library, create one from an existing campaign, import an email, or use Create with AI.

  3. Once the template opens in the Email Builder, click the + Add Elements button.

  4. Find the Footer element in the Elements panel, then drag and drop it into your email template. The bottom of the email is usually the best spot.

  5. Click the Footer element to customise its overall look. Adjust the available settings, such as background colour, padding, spacing, borders, height and width.

  6. Click the text or individual parts of the footer to edit their content and styling. Update your business details, hyperlinks, typography and colours as needed.

  7. Optional: Open the Visibility settings to set Desktop/Mobile visibility or turn on Conditional Sending, where supported. For example, to show optional content only to contacts in the United States, select Country, choose the condition Is, and enter United States as the value.

Note: Applying Conditional Sending to the whole Footer element can hide it from contacts who don't meet the condition. Avoid conditions that would hide required business information or your only unsubscribe option.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use the Footer element in different email editors?

Yes. The Standard, AI and Design editors all let you add the Footer element through the Elements panel. However, the layout and available customisation settings may differ between them.

Q: Why is my footer not appearing for certain contacts or devices?

Check the footer's Device-Based Visibility and Conditional Sending settings. If the footer sits inside a hidden parent layout, it may also be hidden, even when the footer's own visibility settings are turned on.

Q: Can I save a customised footer to use in other email templates?

Yes. The Design Editor supports Saved Items. This lets you save supported elements or layouts and reuse them in other email templates in your account. Saved Items aren't currently supported in the AI Editor.

Q: Can I remove or replace an existing Footer element?

Yes. Select the Footer element and use the delete control to remove it. You can then drag a new Footer element into the template and customise it as needed.
