This article shows you how to quickly rearrange elements and layouts in the Email Builder using the new arrow controls. Arrow controls make editing emails faster and easier, because you don't need to rely on fiddly drag-and-drop.
What is the Arrow Control feature?
The Arrow Control feature in the Email Builder lets you move elements or layout sections up or down with a single click. You no longer need to drag blocks precisely into place. This makes designing email campaigns and templates quicker and simpler.

How to use arrow controls to rearrange layouts
Arrow controls make repositioning content blocks in your emails faster and more precise.
Go to Email Marketing from the left-hand menu.
Open an existing Template or create a new Campaign.
Hover over the element (for example, text or an image) or layout block you want to move.
Click the up (↑) or down (↓) arrow that appears near the top-left of the section.
The element or layout moves straight away to its new position.
Arrow controls for elements vs layouts
Knowing the difference between elements and layouts helps you use the arrows more effectively.
Arrow controls appear for both:
Elements: These are individual pieces like text blocks, buttons or images. The arrows move these items within their current layout.
Layouts: These are broader sections (for example, header, body or footer). The arrows move the entire section up or down within the overall email design.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to save after each move?
No. All changes are saved automatically as you make them.
Q: Can I still use drag-and-drop?
Yes. Arrow controls are an extra option, not a replacement. You can keep using drag-and-drop alongside the arrows.
Q: Are arrow controls available on mobile?
At the moment, this feature is optimised for desktop use.
Q: What if the arrows don't appear?
Make sure your mouse is hovering directly over an element or layout that can be moved. If they still don't show, try refreshing the editor or checking for browser updates.
