You can use Affiliate Manager workflow triggers and actions to automate what happens when an affiliate brings in a lead. The Lead Created trigger starts a workflow for leads that are credited to an affiliate. The Add Leads under an Affiliate action assigns contacts to an affiliate and campaign.
Trigger: Lead Created
What it does
The Lead Created trigger starts a workflow when a new affiliate-attributed lead is created. You can use it for all campaigns, or filter it so it only fires for a specific campaign.
How to use it
In your account, go to Automation → Workflows, then click + Create Workflow.
Set the trigger to Lead Created.
To target a specific campaign, click Add filters → Campaign → Is, select the campaign, then click Save Trigger. Leave the campaign filter blank to use the trigger for all campaigns.
Add actions, such as:
Send an email to the affiliate
Notify your internal team
Use custom values from the Lead Created section in your emails and messages.
Save and publish your workflow.
Use cases
Send a “Congrats!” email to affiliates when they bring in a lead.
Alert your sales or support team about new affiliate leads.
Automatically track and tag affiliate leads for nurturing.
Action: Add Leads under an Affiliate
What it does
The Add Leads under an Affiliate action assigns a contact (lead) to an affiliate and their campaign. This makes sure affiliates are correctly credited. You can choose from three assignment methods, so it's flexible enough for most set-ups.
How to use it
In your workflow, add the action Add Leads under an Affiliate.
Choose your assignment method:
Manual
Auto (Attribution)
Custom Mapping
Fill in the extra fields for the method you chose.
Save and publish the workflow.
Assignment methods
1. Manual: Manually assign a lead to a known affiliate in a specific campaign.
Best for: form submissions, internal routing and admin decisions.
Steps:
2. Auto (Attribution via URL): Automatically assign leads using the am_id passed in the URL parameters. Supports first or last click attribution.
Steps:
Choose the attribution method: First or Last.
Make sure am_id is passed earlier in the funnel (for example, in the form or page URL).
3. Custom Mapping: Use this if am_id is stored in a custom field or passed as a workflow value.
Tip: Best for API pushes, third-party systems and hidden fields on forms.
Steps:
Choose the mapping source: custom field or workflow value.
The system reads the value and assigns the lead to the matching affiliate.
Use cases
Reward lead generation
Example: A lead fills in a form → the system assigns them to the affiliate who shared the link → a “Congrats!” email is sent.Custom lead nurturing
Example: Leads from a funnel are assigned to specific affiliates for one-on-one follow-up, which helps boost conversion rates.Simplify admin tasks
Example: Replace manual lead assignment with automation. This is ideal for busy teams managing lots of affiliates.
