Community Analytics gives community admins and owners one dashboard to track revenue, membership, traffic and engagement. This article shows you how to open the dashboard, filter data by date range, and understand the key metrics and activity trends. You'll also learn how to find and export inactive members.

What is Community Analytics?

Community Analytics is a dashboard in ZipLeads Communities that shows how your community is performing. It brings together earnings, membership activity, traffic sources, peak activity hours and engagement metrics in one place.

Community admins and owners can compare performance across date ranges, see how members take part, find inactive members, and make informed decisions about growing and managing their communities.

Limitations and Important Considerations

  • Historical traffic: Visits recorded before traffic tracking became available are not backfilled.

  • Activity-based reporting: Inactive members are based on tracked activity within the selected date range.

  • Period comparisons: Percentage changes depend on data from the previous reporting period of the same length.

  • Community timezone: Time-based analytics use the community's timezone, not UTC.

How To Access Community Analytics

You can open Community Analytics from your group's settings. Once you're on the dashboard, you can review performance metrics and choose the reporting period you need.

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Select Memberships from the left-hand navigation menu.

  3. Select Communities.

  4. Select Groups.

  5. Find the group you want to review and select Login to your group.

  6. Inside the community, select Settings from the top navigation menu.

  7. From the settings sidebar, select Analytics.

Understanding the Community Analytics Dashboard

The dashboard organises performance information into reporting cards, charts and activity visuals. Each area gives a different view of your community's earnings, membership, visitors or engagement.

Selecting a Date Range

Date filters let you review community performance over a specific period. The dashboard applies the selected range across its reporting cards, so it's easy to compare metrics consistently.

The available date filters are:

  • Today

  • Yesterday

  • 7 days

  • 30 days

  • 90 days

  • 12 months

  • Custom

By default, the dashboard shows the last 30 days.

You can select another preset, or use Custom to set your own reporting period.

Understanding Key Performance Metrics

The performance cards give a quick view of your community's financial activity, membership, inactivity and pending invitations.

Total earnings

Total earnings is the net transaction revenue attributed to your community.

It includes purchases after refunds and chargebacks are taken out. Earnings are shown in your account's currency.

Total members

Total members is the current active membership roster of your community.

The dashboard also shows how many new members joined during the selected reporting period.

This helps you tell the current membership total apart from membership growth during that period.

Inactive members

Inactive members are members on the current active roster who have no tracked analytics activity during the selected date range.

The dashboard shows the inactive-member count and a visual comparison of active versus inactive members.

The calculation is:

Active members = Total members − Inactive members

This helps you spot members who may need extra engagement.

Invitation pending

Invitation pending shows email invitations that are still outstanding at the end of the selected reporting period.

This helps community owners and admins keep an eye on invitations that haven't been cleared yet.

Analysing Traffic Sources

Traffic analytics show where community visits come from. You can review total traffic, compare reporting periods, and see how much each source contributes.

The dashboard supports these traffic categories:

  • Direct

  • Instagram

  • YouTube

  • Facebook

  • LinkedIn

  • Other

The dashboard shows up to four named traffic sources, based on their volume. All other sources are grouped under Other.

Each source shows its share of traffic and a comparison with the previous reporting period.

Automated bots and crawlers are not counted as traffic.

Identifying Peak Activity Hours

Peak activity hours show when your members are most active. You can use this to plan announcements, discussions and other activities around busier times.

The dashboard shows a heat map by day of the week and hour of the day.

  • Darker cells: Higher activity.

  • Lighter cells: Lower activity.

  • Busiest block: Highlights the day and time with the most recorded activity.

  • Timezone: Activity is shown in the community's timezone.

Tracking Community Engagement

Engagement analytics show how members interact with content in your community. These metrics help you understand participation and track changes over time.

The Engagement card breaks down three types of interaction:

  • Posts: The number of posts created during the reporting period.

  • Comments: The number of comments recorded during the reporting period.

  • Reactions: The number of reactions recorded during the reporting period.

A chart shows how these interactions are split, including each type's share of the total.

The Engagement trend chart shows how total interactions change across the selected period.

Together, these help you spot participation patterns and changes in community engagement.

Exporting Inactive Members

Community Analytics lets admins and owners download inactive-member data for the selected reporting period. You can use this export to find members to re-engage or to keep records of community activity.

To export inactive members:

  1. Select the date range you want to review using the filters at the top of the dashboard.

  2. Find the Inactive members card.

  3. Click Export to download the inactive-member data as a CSV file.
