Affiliate Manager now finds failed and denied PayPal payouts automatically. It shows them in their own tabs on the Payouts page. You can see why a payout failed and send it back for payment yourself, without waiting for the ZipLeads support team to change the payout status.
Key Capabilities
Automatic detection: Affiliate Manager re-checks the status of each PayPal payout after it is submitted. Failed and denied payouts are picked up without you doing anything.
Processing tab: Lists payouts that PayPal has not finished processing yet.
Failed tab: Lists payouts that failed or were denied. It also shows the failure reason when PayPal provides one.
Retry Payment: Moves a failed payout back to Approved for Payout so you can pay it again.
Who Can Use This Feature
Account owners and admins who manage affiliate payouts in Affiliate Manager.
How to Review Failed PayPal Payouts
Go to Marketing > Affiliate Manager > Payouts.
Select the Processing tab to see payouts that PayPal is still confirming. You don't need to do anything with these. They move to Paid or Failed once PayPal returns a final status.
Select the Failed tab to see payouts that PayPal declined or could not complete. Each row shows a Payment Failed status and, when available, the reason.
To check the details of a payout, click the 3-dot menu on the row and choose View Contact, View Commission or View Payment Status.
Note: The Processing and Failed tabs only appear when there is at least one payout in that state. If you don't see them, you have no payouts that are in progress or failed.
How to Retry a Failed Payout
Go to Marketing > Affiliate Manager > Payouts > Failed.
Review the failure reason, and fix it first if you can. For example, check that the affiliate's PayPal payout details are correct.
Click the 3-dot menu on the payout and select Retry Payment.
The payout moves to the Approved for Payout tab.
From the Approved for Payout tab, pay the affiliate again using your usual payout process.
Important: Retry Payment does not send the payment straight away. It only returns the payout to Approved for Payout so you can try the payment again.
Failed vs. Denied Payouts
The Failed tab is separate from the existing Denied Payout tab:
Failed: Payouts you approved and attempted that PayPal declined or could not complete.
Denied Payout: Payouts that were denied manually from within Affiliate Manager.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I see the Failed or Processing tab?
These tabs only show when at least one payout is in that state. They appear automatically when needed.
Does Affiliate Manager show why PayPal declined the payout?
Yes. When PayPal returns a reason, it's shown in the Failed tab and on the payout details. If PayPal doesn't provide a reason, none is displayed.
Will retrying a payout pay the affiliate twice?
No. Retry Payment only applies to the failed payout you select and moves it back to Approved for Payout. No payment is sent until you pay it again.
