Let Ask AI work your browser for you, hands-free. It can open pages, click on things, type text and fill in forms securely in Chrome-based browsers.
What you'll learn
Find out how the Ask AI Browser Control extension turns your AI assistant from an advisor into an automation agent. It can move around the web, interact with pages and complete multi-step tasks for you.
You'll also learn how the extension keeps you secure. It uses tab isolation, protects your credentials and only connects when needed. Live screenshot previews show you exactly what it's doing.
What is AI Browser Control?
AI Browser Control is a browser extension that lets Ask AI operate your web browser on its own. Instead of giving you steps to follow, Ask AI does the task itself. It moves between pages, clicks buttons, fills in forms and reads content, all in a secure, isolated environment.
The extension works with Chrome-based browsers, including Chrome, Edge and Brave. It connects with your Ask AI assistant in both text and voice conversations, and turns plain-English requests into browser actions.
All automation runs in its own tab group, kept completely separate from your personal tabs. Your existing sessions and data are never touched.
Key benefits
AI Browser Control changes how you handle web-based tasks. You get hands-free automation with transparency and security built in.
Hands-free task completion — Ask AI completes multi-step tasks without you lifting a finger, from simple page navigation to complex form submissions.
Visual interaction — The AI reads pages using screenshots and interacts using coordinate-based actions with an animated cursor, just like a person browsing.
Full navigation control — It opens, navigates, reloads, switches between and closes tabs automatically. Each action returns a fresh screenshot so you can check it.
Complete page reading — It captures page text, console logs and network requests to understand what happened and adjust its next steps.
Works everywhere — It works the same way in text chat and voice conversations.
Live activity preview — A screenshot of every step appears in a preview panel, so you can watch the AI work in real time.
How Browser Control works
The extension uses a coordinate-based system to read and act on web pages like a person would.
Visual page analysis: screenshot-based understanding
Ask AI takes screenshots of web pages and analyses them to find clickable elements, form fields, buttons and navigation options. It understands the page layout the way you would.
Batched actions: coordinated interactions
The AI carries out batched actions, such as clicking at set points, typing text, scrolling, dragging elements and sending keyboard commands. An animated cursor shows exactly where the AI is working.
Automated navigation: complete tab control
The extension handles all browser navigation. It opens new pages, uses the back and forward buttons, reloads pages, switches between tabs and closes them when done. Each navigation action captures a fresh screenshot automatically.
Outcome checking: multi-layer page reading
Ask AI reads page text, watches browser console logs and tracks network requests. This lets it check that actions worked and decide the next steps in more complex tasks.
How it's triggered
Browser Control works the same whether you're typing in text chat or speaking in a voice conversation. Just describe what you want done, and Ask AI works out when browser automation is needed.
Security and privacy
The Browser Control extension uses several layers of security to protect your data, credentials and browsing privacy.
Tab isolation: kept separate from your browsing
All automation runs in a managed session tab group, completely separate from your personal tabs. The AI can't see, access or interact with any of your other tabs, windows or sessions.
Secure form fill: credentials stay on your device
When a form needs credentials, payment details or personal information, the extension asks you for them on your own device. The values are filled straight into the browser. They're never sent to the backend or shown to the AI model.
No second login needed
The extension signs in using your existing ZipLeads session. It checks with the backend before running any commands, so there's no second login or separate credentials to manage.
On-demand connections: minimal network exposure
The connection only opens while a browser task is running, and closes as soon as it's finished. If the connection drops partway through, it recovers the session automatically without losing data.
Privacy-first design
Your browsing data, personal tabs and sensitive credentials stay on your device. The AI only gets the information it needs to complete the task you asked for.
How to install and use Browser Control
You can get started in minutes. Install the extension, then connect it to your Ask AI assistant.
Step 1: Install the extension
Go to the Chrome Web Store or your browser's extension store and search for "Ask AI Browser Control". Click Add to Chrome (or your browser's equivalent) to install it.
Step 2: Open ZipLeads in your browser
Go to your ZipLeads account and make sure you're logged in. The extension uses your active session to sign in automatically, so you don't need separate credentials.
Step 3: Connect the extension
Click the Browser Control extension icon in your browser toolbar. A popup shows the connection status. If you're logged in to ZipLeads, the status will say Connected to the page.
Step 4: Ask Ask AI to do a browser task
Open Ask AI in text chat or start a voice conversation. Describe what you want done. For example: "Create a new event site for my upcoming webinar" or "Fill out the hosting sign-up form for me."
Ask AI will recognise when browser automation is needed and start working through the steps automatically.
Step 5: Watch the progress in real time
As Ask AI works, a screenshot of each step appears in the chat preview panel. You can watch it move between pages, click elements and fill in forms. The animated cursor shows exactly where the AI is working on each page.
Note: The extension only opens a connection while it's running a task. When the task finishes, the connection closes automatically to minimise network exposure and browser resource use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which browsers does AI Browser Control support?
The Browser Control extension supports all Chromium-based browsers, including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Brave. It doesn't currently support Firefox or Safari.
Can Ask AI access my personal browsing tabs?
No. Browser Control only works in a managed session tab group that's kept separate from your personal tabs. The AI can't see, access or interact with any tabs outside this automation area.
How does the extension handle sensitive data like passwords and payment details?
When Ask AI reaches a form that needs credentials or payment details, the extension shows a secure prompt on your device. You enter the information there, and it's filled straight into the form. It's never sent to the backend or shown to the AI model. These values stay on your device only.
Does Browser Control work with voice conversations?
Yes. Browser Control works the same in text chat and voice conversations with Ask AI. Just describe your task out loud, and the AI will decide when browser automation is needed and carry out the steps.
What happens if my internet connection drops during a browser task?
The extension has automatic recovery built in. If the connection drops partway through, it will try to restore the session and pick up from the last completed step. If that doesn't work, Ask AI will let you know and you can restart the task from the beginning.
Can I see what Ask AI is doing while it uses the browser?
Yes. Every action creates a screenshot that appears in the chat preview panel. You can watch in real time as Ask AI moves between pages, clicks elements and fills in forms. An animated cursor shows exactly where the AI is working on each page.
Do I need to keep the Browser Control extension icon visible in my toolbar?
The extension works whether the icon is pinned to your toolbar or tucked away in the extensions menu. Keeping it visible makes it easier to check the connection status and confirm the extension is active.
Will the extension slow down my browser when I'm not using it?
No. The Browser Control extension only opens a connection and uses resources while it's running a task you've asked Ask AI to do. When the task finishes, the connection closes and the extension goes back to idle, using very little.
