This article explains how to generate, edit and describe images with Ask AI. You can create images from conversational prompts, change generated or attached images, and ask questions about an image. Ask AI also supports several aspect ratios for social posts, Stories, videos, banners, portrait graphics and landscape content.

What is Generating & Editing Images with Ask AI?

Ask AI helps you create and work with images using plain-English prompts. You can generate a new image, edit an existing image, or attach an image and ask Ask AI to describe or analyse it.

When you generate an image, you can give an aspect ratio or describe the platform or use case you have in mind. Ask AI uses that information to create an image in the right format.

How To Generate and Edit Images with Ask AI

Getting started with Ask AI images is simple. Follow these steps to start generating and editing your visuals.

Note: Make sure your account has either the AI Employee subscription or Content AI pay-per-use enabled.

1. Generate & Edit Images in the Ask AI Modal

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Click the AskAI button in the top right navigation bar.

  3. Enter your prompt in the text field. For example: "Generate an image of a beautiful sunset"

  4. Submit the prompt by pressing Enter or clicking the Arrowhead button.

  5. Wait a few seconds while the AI creates the image.
    ​

  6. Click into the prompt field below your generated image.

  7. Enter an edit instruction. For example: "Add a few birds in the sky"

  8. Submit the edit prompt.

  9. Wait while AskAI applies the change and creates the edited image.
    ​

2. Edit Images Generated via Content AI

You can also edit any AI-generated image from Content AI.

  1. Go to a Content AI workflow, for example Marketing > Social Planner.

  2. Create a new post and generate an image with AI, or open an existing post with a Content AI-generated image.

  3. Click the Edit with AskAI button.

  4. Enter your edit prompt (for example, "Change the latte art to a cat").

  5. Submit it and wait for the updated image to appear.
    ​

3. Save or Copy Images

After any generation or edit:

  1. Click the Save icon to add the image to your ZipLeads Media Library permanently.

  2. Click the Copy button to copy it to your clipboard so you can paste it somewhere else.

  3. If you don't save an image, you can only get to it from within your AskAI session.

If you need a specific format, include the ratio directly in the prompt.

Example:

You can also describe the platform or use case you have in mind.

If you don't give a ratio, Ask AI uses what your prompt is asking for to choose a suitable format.

Images are first kept within your Ask AI session. Click "Save" to move an image to your Media Library.

Q: Can Ask AI choose the aspect ratio automatically?

No. For now, these edits are only kept in Ask AI's session history.
