The Quiz Submitted trigger starts automated actions whenever a quiz is completed. You can use it to send personalised feedback, group people by their scores, or assign tasks to your team.

What is the Quiz Submitted trigger?

The Quiz Submitted trigger is a workflow entry condition. It fires whenever a contact finishes and submits a published quiz in ZipLeads.

It helps businesses, educators and marketers automate responses and get more out of their quizzes. When you add this trigger, contacts are enrolled in your workflow the moment their quiz data is recorded. This means you can follow up in real time with a journey tailored to each person.

Key benefits of the Quiz Submitted trigger

The Quiz Submitted trigger lets you respond quickly, and at scale, whenever someone completes a quiz.

  • Real-time engagement: Respond the second someone submits their quiz. This helps boost open rates and conversions.

  • Advanced filters: Set conditions such as quiz name, specific scores or custom fields to target specific audiences.

  • Custom actions: Automate personalised follow-ups, like emails, SMS notifications or tasks, based on quiz results.

  • Less manual work: No more exports or spreadsheets. Scores flow straight into your automations.

  • Scalable workflows: Combine the trigger with conditional steps, wait times and IF/ELSE logic to build detailed nurture sequences.

Filter options

Filters tell ZipLeads when the trigger should fire. They give you fine control over which quiz submissions start a workflow. You can set precise conditions, such as quiz name, overall or category score thresholds, or custom fields.

Here's a breakdown of each filter type:

  • Quiz Name: Select a specific quiz, use Any to include all quizzes, or use Is Not to rule out specific quizzes.

  • Overall Score: Create rules such as is greater than 80 or between 50 and 70 to group contacts by total score.

  • Category Score: Target people who did well (or struggled) in a particular section.

  • Custom Field: Use custom score fields you created when designing your quiz.

Filter quiz scores using a range

Quiz score filters help you route contacts based on how they performed. Using a score range makes it easier to put contacts on the right follow-up path, without creating lots of overlapping conditions.

When setting up quiz score conditions, use the Between operator to match scores that fall within a range.

How it works:

  • Enter the lower score in the first field.

  • Enter the higher score in the second field.

  • Both the starting and ending scores are included in the range.

  • The system won't let you save an invalid range where the minimum score is greater than the maximum score.

Example:

Trigger a nurture workflow when a quiz score is between 30 and 60.

Use case examples

  • Personalised feedback for learners: Automatically email students feedback based on their quiz scores to help them improve.

  • Automated follow-ups for sales teams: Assign high-scoring quiz takers to your sales team for personal outreach.

  • Event participation tracking: Send event certificates or rewards based on quiz completion and score thresholds.
