A Group Calendar ID is the unique identifier for a specific Group Calendar in ZipLeads. You may need it when an integration, API configuration or other technical setup asks for the ID of a Group Calendar. This article explains how to find the Group Calendar ID using the Permanent Link or, if you prefer, the calendar's Embed Code.

What is a Group Calendar ID?

A Group Calendar combines several individual calendars into one booking experience. The Group Calendar ID identifies the group itself. It is different from the IDs of the individual calendars inside that group.

Important: If an integration or technical setup asks for a "Calendar ID", check whether it needs an individual Calendar ID or a Group Calendar ID before you enter the value.

Key benefits of knowing your Group Calendar ID

Knowing where to find the Group Calendar ID makes it easier to finish technical setups that refer to a specific calendar group. Because Group Calendars and individual calendars have different IDs, finding the right value also helps you avoid setup errors.

  • Accurate identification: Use the ID for the exact Group Calendar your technical setup needs.

  • Integration setup: Provide the Group Calendar ID when a supported third-party integration asks for it.

  • Technical flexibility: Get the ID when an API or other custom setup specifically needs a Group Calendar ID.

  • Fewer setup errors: Tell the Group Calendar ID apart from the IDs of individual calendars.

When you may need a Group Calendar ID

Most everyday calendar setup in ZipLeads doesn't need you to copy a Group Calendar ID by hand. The ID only matters when a particular integration or technical setup asks you for it.

You may need a Group Calendar ID when:

  • A third-party integration asks for the ID of a Group Calendar.

  • An API or custom technical setup needs the Group Calendar ID.

  • Technical setup instructions ask you for the ID of a calendar group.

Note: Standard ZipLeads workflow filters let you select a Calendar Group directly. You usually don't need to find and paste the Group Calendar ID just to filter a workflow by a Calendar Group.

How to find the Group Calendar ID

The Permanent Link is the simplest way to find the Group Calendar ID, using the Group Calendar's sharing options. The ID is the last part of the Permanent Link, so you can copy it without digging through the Embed Code.

  1. In your account, go to Settings.

  2. Go to Calendars and open the Groups area.

  3. Find the Group Calendar whose ID you need.

4. Open the sharing options for that Group Calendar.

5. Select Scheduling Link from the sharing options.

  6. Find the Permanent Link for the Group Calendar.

  7. Look at the last part of the Permanent Link, after the final "/".

  8. Copy that last part and paste it into the integration or technical setup that needs your Group Calendar ID.

Important: Copy only the ID. Don't copy the whole Permanent Link when the field asks for the Group Calendar ID.

Alternative: find the Group Calendar ID from the Embed Code

The Group Calendar's Embed Code is another way to find the ID if you can't, or don't want to, use the Permanent Link. The embed code can contain extra characters, so make sure you copy only the part that is the Group Calendar ID.

  1. Go to Settings > Calendars > Groups.

2. Find the Group Calendar you need and open its sharing options.

  3. Select Embed Code.

Tip: Use the Permanent Link method when you can, as it's the simpler way to find the value. The Embed Code method is a handy alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is a Group Calendar ID the same as an individual Calendar ID?

No. A Group Calendar is a group of several calendars, and each individual calendar has its own ID. If an integration or technical setup asks for an ID, check which type of calendar ID it needs.

Q: Do I need a Group Calendar ID to set up a ZipLeads workflow?

Not for standard Calendar Group filtering. ZipLeads workflow filters let you pick a Calendar Group directly from the available options, so you don't need to enter its ID. You may still need the Group Calendar ID if a separate custom or technical setup asks for it.

Q: Can I use the same Group Calendar ID in more than one integration?

The ID always points to the same Group Calendar, but whether you can use it in a particular integration depends on what that integration's field expects. Check that each integration needs a Group Calendar ID before you use it.

Q: Does renaming a Group Calendar change its Group Calendar ID?

No. Renaming the Group Calendar doesn't change its Group Calendar ID. If an external setup uses the ID rather than the calendar's display name, the ID stays linked to that group.

Q: Which method should I use to find the Group Calendar ID?

Use the Permanent Link method when you can, because the ID is simply the last part after the final "/". The Embed Code method is another way to find the same ID.

Q: What should I do if an integration asks for a "Calendar ID"?

Check the integration's documentation to see whether it expects an individual Calendar ID or a Group Calendar ID. Don't assume the two are interchangeable.
