This article will show you how you can set one-off days as unavailable on your calendars. This could be done for public holidays, if you or others are on holidays or if you simply just don’t want to book any appointments for a certain day. Doing this will mean that you don’t have to update your calendar availability.

There are two different types of calendars: unassigned (no users are assigned) and assigned (team calendars where one or more users are assigned).

Note: only admin users can block off time for any staff member however users can only block off their own times.

To block off time in a calendar, follow the below steps in Calendars:

1. Click on the ‘my calendar’ dropdown and select the calendar that you wish to block off time for

2. Click forward to show the day you wish to block off time for

3. Once you find the day in which you would like to block off time for, there are one of two ways you can do this:

  • The first way is ideal if you would like to just block out a number of hours on a certain day. You can do this by clicking on the start time of the block and drag your mouse down until you reach the end of the time block.

  • The second way is ideal if you would like to block out an entire day. To do this, just click on the very top row titled ‘All Day’ and click on this box. You can then add blocked off time. You can also add an event title to this time block to distinguish why that time is being blocked off.

Another way you could block off time is if you have integrated your Google calendar within your account. If you block off the time in your Google calendar, this will automatically block off that time in your calendar within your account. However, if you were to block off the time in your calendar, this would not block off the time in your Google calendar.
