1. Open the client portal Dashboard

  • Click Memberships in the left hand side menu.

  • From the top bar, open Client Portal and choose Dashboard.

The Dashboard is the overview area for your client portal hub.

Step 1

2. Reviewing the Dashboard

On the Dashboard you can see:

  • Invited: how many people you have invited.

  • Users: how many users exist in your client portal.

  • Client portal URL, shown on the left with a copy icon.

Step 2

3. Use the Actions panel to give members access

Scroll down to Actions. From here you can:

  • Click Generate beside 'Generate magic link' to create a link to send to somebody.

  • Click Invite beside 'Invite to client portal', then pick a contact from your account.

  • Click Send beside 'Send login email' for a member who already has access.

4. Send Login Email - Choosing a contact

When the Select Contact to send Login Email window opens, use the Search by name field to choose the contact, then click Send Email. The invite flow works the same way.

5. Open Client Portal Settings

Go back to the top bar, open Client Portal and choose Settings. The Client Portal Settings page lists Domain Setup, App Permissions, Chat Widget, Branding, Language Settings and Email Settings.

6. Set your domain

  • Click Domain Setup from the Client Portal Settings page

To further customise your Client Portal URL you can create either of the options listed below:

  • Sub Domain: overwrite the text in the Sub Domain field to create your own subdomain (e.g. https://zipleads.app.clientclub.net)

  • Custom Domain: enter your own domain in Custom Domain and click Add Domain to create a subdomain of your domain (e.g., courses.zipleads.com.au)

Watch out: Changes are not applied until you click Update Domain.

7. Choose which apps members can see

  • Go back to Settings and click App Permissions.

  • Untick any application you do not want to feature. Anything not selected stays hidden from client portal users.

  • Below the list, set the default page: the homepage, Courses or Communities.

  • Click Save Settings.

8. Configure the chat widget

  • Back in Settings, click Chat Widget.

  • Use the Select Chat Widget dropdown to pick the widget you want to display.

  • Tick the pages where the widget should appear: Communities, Courses, Affiliates or Home & Account Settings.

  • Click Save Settings.

Step 8

Tip: You need an existing chat widget set up in your account before you can select connect one here.

9. Brand the portal

  • Back in Settings, click Branding.

  • Fill in Portal Name and Portal Description.

  • Set Brand Color One and Brand Color Two to match your branding.

  • Upload a Favicon (shown in the browser tab) and a Portal Image (shown on the right of the portal login screen).

  • Scroll down to logo, which appears in the top left corner of the portal when a member is logged in.

  • Support Email, the address members can contact for help.

  • Copyright, if you want one displayed.

  • Click Save Settings when you are done.

Step 10

Tip: You may need to edit your logo and favicon to meet the aspect ratios and file size limits shown beside each upload area.

11. Set the portal language

  • Back in Settings, click Language Settings.

  • Pick the language your client portal users will see from the dropdown, for example English, Spanish, French (Canada), French (France), Portuguese (Portugal), Portuguese (Brazil) or German.

Step 11

Tip: Members can also change the language themselves inside their own client portal.

12. Control member email notifications

  • Back in Settings, click Email Settings.

  • Switch between the Client Portal, Communities, Certificates and Courses tabs.

  • Use the tick box beside each notification, such as Invoice Created, to turn it on or off.

  • Click the eye icon beside Default Template to preview the email that will be sent.

13. Open the Community Groups overview

From the top bar, open Communities and choose Groups. This brings you to the Community Groups overview.

14. Manage your community groups

On the Community Groups page you can:

  • Click + Create Group to add a new group.

  • Use the Active dropdown (top right) to switch between active and inactive groups.

  • See the member count for each group.

  • Click the pencil beside Owner to change group ownership.

  • Use the Status dropdown on a group card to toggle it between active and inactive.

15. View the portal as a member

Log in to the client portal as a member via the client portal URL. You will use the same email as your ZipLeads account and a email code or the password you have set up.

Once logged in, the home screen shows Course Progress at the bottom, with Join a Group and Take a course on the left hand side.

Step 15

16. Open the courses library

Click Take a course to open the courses library, where the member can see all courses in their library and work through them.

Step 16

17. Open a community group

From the top right icons, click through to Communities.

The group opens on the Discussion tab where recent posts appear, with Announcements on the left. If the member belongs to more than one community, use the group name dropdown at the top to switch groups.

Step 17

18. Let members manage their own account

Click the profile icon in the top right corner, then choose Manage Your Account. From here a member can update their basic details and profile icon, and use the settings on the left hand side.

Step 18

Watch out: Options a member sees here depend on the App Permissions you set, so some settings may not be available to them.
