This video will show you how to set custom values and custom fields and outline the differences between the two including how and where to use them.

Custom values and custom fields both allow pre-populated information to be used in various areas such as funnel Pages, Workflows, Forms and Surveys.

Custom Values:

How to create a Custom Value:

  1. Click on the "New Custom Value" button in the top right, then enter the Name, Value (Information you want to be filled in) and folder if you have one you'd like this Custom Value to reside within:

  2. Once filled in (Folder is optional), click Create to generate that Custom Value:

How to edit a Custom Value:

  1. Click on the pencil icon to the right of the custom value you wish to edit:

  2. If you wish to edit the custom value name, replace the name in the input box with the new name, then click update:

  3. If you wish to edit the information in the custom value, replace the information in the input box with the new data, then click update:

  4. If you wish to change what folder the Custom Value is within, click on the Folder drop-down, select the new folder, and remember to press update to save:

How to make a new Custom Value folder:

  1. Click on the "Add Folder" Button to the top right of the Custom Values page:

How to delete a Custom Value:

  1. Click on the trash can icon to the right of the custom value you wish to delete:

How to use a Custom Value:

  1. When composing a message, click on the 'tag', then select a folder to view Custom Values within, if you want to use a created/new Custom Value, click "Custom Values", then choose from the list:

  2. Your custom value will be inputted

  3. When the message is sent to the customer, the information is replaced to equal the value you have entered:

Custom Fields:

How to create a Custom Field within Settings > Custom Fields:

  1. In the top right of the Custom Fields menu, select Add Field:

  2. Select how you'd like your custom field to appear on the contact card, you have the following options:

    • Single Line

    • Multi Line

    • Text Box List

    • Number

    • Phone

    • Monetary

    • Dropdown (Single)

    • Dropdown (Multiple)

    • Radio Select

    • Checkbox

    • Date Picker

    • File Upload

    • Signature

  3. Click Next in the bottom right.

  4. Enter a name for your field:

  5. Then select the "Object" it should appear within, this can be either the contact card or opportunity card:

  6. Select a group if you would like to organise it in a folder (Optional):

  7. Then enter a placeholder, which appears as light grey text prompting you of possible responses that should be entered into that field when you are using it:

    These placeholders will appear like so:

  8. Now select save and your custom field will be available on the Contact or Opportunity cards:

How to use a Custom Field within Automation > Workflows:

  1. When editing a workflow, select the (+) button to add a new Action:

  2. Then find and click "Update Contact Field"

  3. Then select if you would like to Update, or Clear the value in the custom field at this step in the workflow. For this example we will be updating the value:

  4. Then click the "Add Field" button:

  5. Then click "Select Field" and scroll down until you find the Custom Fields heading:

  6. Then select the Field you wish to use, and enter the value you want this workflow to fill into the field, as the contacts pass through this workflow:

  7. Finally, save your changes in the bottom right before clicking away, then save your workflow.

Form Builder:

How to create a Custom Field within Sites > Forms > Builder:

  1. Click on the (+) Icon to add a new form element

  2. Then click on Custom Fields:

  3. Then click on the (+ Add) button:

  4. Select how you'd like your custom field to appear on the contact card, you have the following options:

    • Single Line

    • Multi Line

    • Text Box List

    • Number

    • Phone

    • Monetary

    • Dropdown (Single)

    • Dropdown (Multiple)

    • Radio Select

    • Checkbox

    • Date Picker

How to use a Custom Field within Sites > Forms > Builder:

  1. Click on the (+) Icon to add a new form element

  2. Then click on Custom Fields:

  3. Then select if you want to look through the Custom Fields created for the Contact or Opportunity card:

  4. Click and drag the Custom Field you want to add to the form, into the form where you wish to place it:
