Email Validation

How email validation works

Email validation is an advanced option to automatically check the validity of contact email addresses as they are created.

This replaces the more manual process of email validation where you would have a contact 'click' a link in the first email to validate that the email is genuine.

Whilst the automated email validation service is superior in that it doesn't require a manual action, it can have an error rate of about 1% in incorrectly marking a valid email as invalid.

When this happens, you can manually re-check an address by clicking on the red envelope icon on the contact card. There is, however, no way to filter and search for invalid emails in bulk.

For this reason, you may wish to have this feature disabled on your account.

Either way, there is a compromise, as without the email validation - and if you are not asking for a 'double opt-in' (manual validation) you will also then be sending emails to invalid email addresses which increases your bounce rate and therefore overall deliverability rating with the email providers.

The default setting for a ZipLeads account is to have automatic email validation enabled. If you prefer to have this disabled simply complete this form HERE.
