What do I need from my lender to start a loan request?

Before you send your loan request to a friend or family member, make sure you have their contact information ready.

You’ll need the following details from your lender:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address (this one’s especially important!)

Why the email address matters

Each loan is tied to the email address used by both the borrower and lender. This means:

  • The lender must sign up or log in using the same email address you entered when creating the loan.

  • If the lender uses a different email, they won’t see your loan request.

After you finish creating the loan

Once your loan request is ready, you’ll see a shareable link. With this link, you can:

  • Copy and paste it into a text message or email to send to your lender.

  • This isn’t required, but doing so helps move things along faster!

Quick recap:

  1. You’ll need your lender’s first name, last name, and email address.

  2. Make sure the email matches the one they’ll use to sign up, and you’re good to go!
