How does the process work?
How secure payment processing works. When a credit card is submitted the PAN or card number is converted to an irreversible token which is stored in a PCI compliant data vault. This data is then used to generate future transactions with the payment gateway which then transmits data to the payment processor to submit the actual payment. Customers' card numbers are never viewable to merchants, customers, or other providers.
