This article is only for the recommended barcode scanner (Symbol LS-2208). RainMaker does not offer support on other scanners.

Some scanners are programmed to read a caret symbol (^) before a barcode scan. The desktop app in RainMaker does not need the caret symbol and will instead read the symbol as a 6.  Follow the instructions below to reprogram your scanner to read barcodes without adding a ^ symbol or 6 in front of your scan.

Download the User Guide by clicking button above and

print ONLY page 45.

On your printed page 45, you will scan the only barcode there to "Set all Defaults."

Your scanner should now read your barcode as is, with out the 6 (^) before the code.  If you are still experiencing issues, please contact client support client support.
