The objective of this article is to guide you on leveraging ZoomSphere to your advantageโ€”specifically, to demonstrate how to automatically archive all incoming comments under your social media contest post. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Use Rules to automate the management of contest post comments and save valuable time!

To follow the steps, you need to have access to Master account!

The best practice is to configure everything before publishing the post. This ensures that everything is archived, preventing the need to manually close dozens of comments. This practice specifically applies to new incoming messages upon creating the Rule. ๐Ÿ’ก

1. Create Contest Label

Go to the Workspace Settings and don't forget to choose the right Workspace in the left menu.
โ€‹
Choose Labels for Monitoring / Community Management App and click "Add a new label" and name it Contest (or anything you want).
โ€‹

Note: It might take up to 10 minutes for the new Label to apply to Community Management app.

2. Create Contest Tag

Open your Community App and find one message/comment. Hover over and click "Tags." Click "Create New Tag" and hit Enter. Done.

3. Create Contest Post

The next step is to create the contest post. You will have to copy part of the original post text, long enough, to make sure it cannot be mistaken for some other post (it has to be unique). Try to avoid emoticons and special symbols.
โ€‹
You can copy it from Scheduler (or Facebook after publishing it, but you are risking people commenting right after. ๐Ÿ˜‰)

4. Create Contest Rule

Now, open your Community Management App and go to Settings โ€” Rules.

Click "Create new rule" and give it some practical name.
โ€‹

  1. Choose Original Post Content (it will reference your original contest post) โ€“ contains โ€“ and now add the part of the text you copied before and paste it here. The "IF" is the "rule" โ€“ if your original post contains "this text", THEN whatever you set there will happen (in this case, archiving the comments).

  2. Then choose Set Label to Contest, and all comments under this post will be labeled Contest. (You can also use the Set Tag option if you prefer it).

  3. The most crucial part is to Set Status to Archive โ€“ and all comments under this post will be archived automatically.

  4. Save it! ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Tip

You can create separate Rules for your contests. (Recommended)

Or place multiple contest posts into one Rule, but change AND to OR. However, do not place more than 10 "OR"s in order for the Rule to apply successfully.
