The goal of this article is to show you how to use ZoomSphere for your advantage β€” and learn how to archive all incoming comments under your social media contest post automatically in ZoomSphere.

The best practice is to set up everything before you publish the post. This way everything will archive and you prevent having dozens of comments to close manually.

Step by step:

Let's start by creating a new label, which will be very useful later.
Go to the main Settings – then Workspaces settings and don't forget to choose the right Workspace in the left menu.

Choose Labels for Monitoring / Community Management App and click Add a new label and name it Contest (or anything you want).

You can also use a tag instead of a label. You can set tags in your Community Management App like this:

Once you create the new tag, hit Enter.

Now click on the newly created tag to select it.


The next step is to create the contest post. You will have to copy part of the original post text, long enough, to make sure it cannot be mistaken for some other post (it has to be unique). Try to avoid emoticons and special symbols.

You can copy it from Scheduler (or Facebook after publishing it, but you are risking people commenting right after. πŸ˜‰)

Now, open your Community Management App and go to Settings β€” Rules.

Click Create new rule and give it some practical name.

  1. Choose Original.Post.Content (it will take your original contest post you are referring to) – contains – and now add the part of the text you copied before and paste it here.

    The IF is the "rule" – if your original post will contain "this text", THEN whatever you set there will happen (in this case archiving the comments).

2. Then choose Set Label to Contest and all comments under this post will be labeled Contest. (You can also use Set Tag option if you prefer it).

3. The most important part is to Set Status to Archive – and all comments under this post will be archived automatically.

4. Save it! πŸ‘Œ

Pro Tip 1:

You can create separate Rules for your contests.

Pro Tip 2:

You can also add more posts to a Rule that is already created.

In this case, you add a new IF – go to your existing Rules, click on the plus button under IF and repeat the same steps as above.

It is important to click AND/OR button and go with the "OR".

Because it's like in Math, AND means that you have to meet all the conditions at once – only all the postsΒ with the texts you put there would archive the comments. OR means it will archive, even if only one of the requirements is met.
