What is the Hold Program?
If you need a short break from teaching, the Hold Program allows you to temporarily pause your membership without canceling your ZIN and/or SYNC memberships entirely. This program allows you to:
Retain your teaching license(s), certifications, and original membership perks.
Avoid a reinstatement fee.
Pay a nominal fee of $9 per month during the hold period, which accumulates and is deducted from your membership dues upon reactivation.
While you are enrolled in the Hold Program, your membership benefits will be paused, including your access to the member-exclusive apps (Clas Buzz, ZIN Play, and/or SYNC Go). You will resume receiving benefits and access once your membership is automatically reactivated at the end of the hold period.
How do I pause my membership?
To place your membership on hold, please contact us with the following information:
Provide the length of hold you are requesting.
Provide the reason for placing the membership on hold.
Please make sure to provide the name and email address associated with your ZIN and/or SYNC membership to ensure we can find your account.
Please Note:
If you have both a ZIN and SYNC membership, we do not have the option to place only one membership on hold. If you enroll in the Hold Program, both memberships will be placed on hold. (This applies to CIRCL Mobility as well.)
Once your request is approved, you will receive a confirmation email that will include important details about your hold and the date your account will automatically be reactivated.
βYour benefits will be suspended for the duration of the hold, including your access to the member-exclusive apps (ZIN Play, SYNC Go, and ClassBuzz).
Who is eligible for the Hold Program?
To be eligible for the Hold Program:
Your membership must be in good standing. Any past due payments need to be resolved before initiating the hold process.
You will need to have a monthly payment subscription on file. (For prepaid memberships, please note that the hold will take effect after the prepaid period concludes. Please contact us to switch to a monthly payment subscription.)
βIf you are in your initial 6-month term of the ZIN or SYNC membership, you will need to complete this term before your membership can be placed on hold.
For how long can I pause my membership?
The maximum hold duration is up to 6 months, within a 3-year period. These months can be taken consecutively or used at different times.
We generally recommend only using 1-2 months at a time so that you have the option to place your membership on hold again, in case you experience another reason to take a break from teaching.
What confirmation will I receive after placing my Zumba membership on hold?
When you enroll in the Hold Program, you will receive a confirmation email once your request has been successfully processed. The email will include important details about your hold and the date your account will automatically be reactivated.
Please contact us if you have not received the hold confirmation email within a reasonable time after enrolling in the Hold Program.
How do I unfreeze or remove the hold on my membership?
Memberships placed on hold will automatically reactivate at the end of the hold period. Please check your hold confirmation email to know when your reactivation will occur. (The specific reactivation date corresponds to the duration you originally selected when enrolling in the Hold Program. For example, a 3-month hold starting in August will reactivate by November 1st.)
If you wish to reactivate sooner than the scheduled date, you can log in to your profile on zumba.com or strongnation.com to take your account off hold. (Click into My Account to see the message on how to take your account off hold.) If you encounter any issues doing this online, contact us and we will be happy to further assist!
Why am I being billed if my membership is on hold?
While your membership is on hold, you will not be billed your regular monthly membership fee. Instead, you will only be billed $9 per month for the duration of the hold. These payments are typically drafted on the 21st of each month and will be billed to the credit card on file.
The great news is that these $9 payments will accumulate and be credited back toward your membership once your account is reactivated!
What happens to my membership benefits during the hold period?
Your benefits are temporarily paused for the duration of the hold, including your access to the member-exclusive apps (ZIN Play, SYNC Go, and ClassBuzz). This also means you will not receive monthly content or have access to the membership tools and discounts.
Once your account is reactivated, you will resume receiving monthly content along with access to all your tools and apps.
When will I lose access to benefits if I go on hold?
You will have access to the benefits and the ability to download content until the 20th of the month when the hold is scheduled to begin.
What happens to my license to teach if I go on hold?
When you complete a Zumba Basic 1 instructor training or a STRONG Nation instructor training, you receive a license to teach for 6 months. By joining the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) or The STRONG Nation Instructor Network (SYNC), your license is extended for as long as you remain a member in good standing.
If you place your membership on hold, and it has been more than 6 months since you took your instructor training, your license to teach will also be placed on hold until your account is reactivated.
What happens to the accumulated $9 fees when my membership is reactivated or canceled?
Once your membership is reactivated from hold, your regular monthly fee will resume on the 21st of each month. All accumulated $9 payments will be applied toward your monthly membership dues. (For example, if you were on hold for 2 months, you accumulated $18 USD. This amount will be subtracted from your first month after reactivation!)
However, if you choose to cancel your membership instead of reactivating from hold, you will forfeit the $9 fees that were accumulated during your hold. The accumulated fees are not eligible for refund.
How do I update my credit card information if my membership is on hold?
To avoid interrupting your hold, you must contact us via phone to make changes to your payment method.
What if I want to keep my account on hold longer?
If you need an extension on your hold, please contact us so we can review your membership and provide you with options.
How do I cancel my membership if my account is currently on hold?
If your account is currently on hold, please contact us via phone so we can release the hold and assist you with the cancellation.
Keep in mind, If you choose to cancel your membership instead of reactivating from hold, you will forfeit the $9 fees that were accumulated during your hold. The accumulated fees are not eligible for refund.
