What is the Hold Program?
If you need a short break from teaching, The Hold Program allows you to temporarily pause your membership without canceling your ZIN and/or SYNC memberships entirely. This program allows you to:
Retain your teaching license(s), certifications, and original membership perks.
Avoid a reinstatement fee.
Pay a nominal fee of $9 per month during the hold period, which accumulates and is deducted from your membership dues upon reactivation.
Membership benefits, including access to apps and digital content, are temporarily suspended, but all of your benefits will be automatically reactivated at the end of the hold period.
How do I pause my membership?
To place your membership on hold, please contact us with the following information:
Contact us to initiate the hold.
Provide the length of hold you are requesting.
Provide the reason for placing the membership on hold.
Please make sure to provide the name and email address associated with your ZIN and/or SYNC membership to ensure we can find your account.
Once your request is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of when your hold will start and end. (Your membership will be placed on hold for the requested period, with all benefits paused. Your membership will automatically reactivate once the hold period ends.)
If you wish to reactivate early, you can log into your account and release the hold on your membership. If you encounter any difficulties doing so, let us know so we can further assist from our end. And don't forget, the accumulated hold fees will apply directly toward your next membership billing cycle!
Please note that if you are both a ZIN and SYNC member, we do not have the option to place only one membership on hold. If you enroll in the Hold Program, both memberships will be placed on hold.
How can I be eligible for the Hold Program?
To be eligible for the Hold Program:
Your membership must be in good standing. Any past due payments need to be resolved before initiating the hold process.
You will need to have a monthly payment subscription on file. (For prepaid memberships, please note that the hold will take effect after the prepaid period concludes. Please contact us to switch to a monthly payment subscription.)
βIf you are in your initial 6-month term of the ZIN or SYNC membership, you will need to complete this term before your membership can be placed on hold.
For how long can I pause my membership?
The maximum hold duration is up to 6 months, within a 3-year period. These months can be taken consecutively or used at different times.
We generally recommend only using 1-2 months at a time so that you have the option to place your membership on hold again, in case you experience another reason to take a break from teaching.
Why am I being charged during the hold of my membership?
While your membership is on hold (paused), you will not be charged your regular monthly membership fee. Instead, you will only be charged $9 per month for the duration of the hold. The great news is that these $9 payments will accumulate and be credited back toward your membership once your account is reactivated!
What happens to the accumulated $9 fees if I cancel my membership?
If you choose to cancel membership instead of reactivating from hold, you will forfeit the $9 fees that were accumulated during your hold. The accumulated fees are not eligible for refund.
Will I receive any benefits while my membership is on hold?
For the duration of the hold, you will NOT receive monthly content or have access to any membership benefits. You will resume receiving monthly content once your membership has been reactivated.
When will I lose access to benefits if I go on hold?
You will only have access to the benefits, and the ability to download content, until the 20th of the month when the hold begins.
When will my membership reactivate?
Your membership will automatically reactivate once the hold period ends. If you wish to reactivate early, you can log into your account and release the hold on your membership. If you encounter any difficulties doing so, let us know so we can further assist from our end.
What happens to my license to teach if I go on hold or cancel?
When you complete a Zumba Basic 1 instructor training or a STRONG Nation instructor training, you receive a license to teach for 6 months. By joining the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) or The STRONG Nation Instructor Network (SYNC), your license is extended for as long as you remain a member in good standing.
If you place your membership on hold, and it has been more than 6 months since you took your instructor training, your license to teach will also be placed on hold until your account is reactivated.
If you cancel your membership, and it has been more than 6 months since you took your instructor training, your license to teach will no longer be valid. You can either rejoin the membership or take another instructor training.
How do I update my credit card information if my membership is on hold?
In order to not interrupt your hold status, to make changes to your payment, you must contact us for further assistance.
Why am I being charged to cancel my membership?
Since the membership benefits for this month have already been provided, in order to finalize the cancellation of your ZIN or SYNC membership, a payment of the current month's membership fee is due. If we have not yet processed your automatic payment for the current month (billed on the 21st of each month), you will be asked to make a payment. If your account is past due, you will be asked to make a payment to bring your account to good standing before you cancel.
