Become a Zumba Instructor
The first step to becoming a Zumba® Instructor is to attend a Zumba® Basic 1 Instructor Training. This training is available in-person, livestream and on-demand, and it prepares you with the foundation and formula to teach Zumba® classes successfully.
With your Zumba® Instructor Training, you'll get everything you need to salsa into instructor success. You will learn the basic rhythms, how to use the Zumba® formula to identify different parts of a song and apply the basic steps to build effective Zumba classes, and you’ll practice with a Zumba Education Specialist to gain confidence to teach sooner. Once you complete your training, you will receive your license and can start teaching wherever and whenever you'd like!
There are no prerequisites to becoming a Zumba® Instructor, although a fitness or dance background is always a plus. Anyone 18 years or older (ages 15-17 with parental consent) may take a Zumba® Instructor Training.

Training Options
For your convenience, we offer the Zumba® Basic 1 Instructor Training in 3 different formats: Livestream, In Person, and On Demand. No matter what format you choose, you can get the same great content, opportunities to practice, support from a Zumba® Education Specialist, and a 6-month license to teach upon completion!
In Person is a one-day, in-person training at a location near you!
Livestream is a one-day, interactive training taught in real-time through Zoom by a Zumba® Education Specialist.
On Demand is an online training that includes 10 hours of premium content broken up into 16 modules that you can complete at your own pace! The On Demand option includes a 1 Month ZIN™ Membership Tools Trial (which renews automatically on a monthly basis unless cancelled).
Jump Start Your Career
For anyone interested in teaching different age groups, we also provide options to get two licenses in one training by attending either a Jump Start Gold™ or Jump Start Kids & Kids Jr.™ Instructor Training.
Jump Start Kids & Kids Jr.™ - Earn a license to teach both Zumba® and Zumba® Kids & Kids Jr. by learning the foundation of the Zumba® program and how to use it to instill healthy habits in kids ages 4+.
Jump Start Gold™ - Earn a license to teach Zumba®, Zumba® Gold and Zumba® Gold Chair by learning the foundation of the Zumba® program and how to adapt it for an active older audience.
The Jump Start instructor trainings are available In-Person or via Livestream. Upon completion of either training, you will immediately receive your Zumba® license. To obtain the specialty licenses (either for Zumba® Kids & Kids Jr. or Zumba® Gold) you must also join the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN).
