What functionalities will I receive with the Zoom Add-On, and how do they compare to other Zoom plans?
When will I get access to my Zoom Add-On?
Immediately! The day you sign up for the Zoom Add-On, you’ll be able to start hosting Zoom livestreams through your class management platform.
When will I be charged for the Zoom Add-On?
For monthly payers, you will be charged the Zoom Add-On with your monthly membership fees.
If you’ve already made a 6-month or 12-month ZIN or SYNC payment, you will be charged for the Zoom Add-On at a prorated rate of $7.50 per month for the remaining months of your 6 or 12 month ZIN/SYNC membership.
Is the $7.50 Zoom Add-On monthly payment for both memberships?
If you are both a ZIN™ & SYNC Member, by paying $7.50 monthly you will get the Zoom Studio Add-On on both accounts. The $7.50/monthly charge covers both ZIN™ and SYNC licenses.
If I get the Zoom Add-On, can I cancel it any time?
Yes, you can contact our Customer Care team, and they will help you downgrade if you no longer want to continue with the Zoom Add-On. The downgrade would be effective at the end of the month and no refunds will be provided.
If I upgrade to the Zoom Add-On, what can I use it for?
You can use the Zoom Add-On to livestream your Zumba® and STRONG Nation™ classes, as well as any other fitness classes. (Even for personal use!)
Can I teach my other fitness formats because I already use my Zoom subscription for that?
Yes, you can teach any dance, fitness, or exercise format via Zoom Add-On.
If I choose to teach virtually outside of zumba.com, including the Zoom Add-On integration, what are the approved platforms I can use to teach?
You are permitted at this time to teach virtual livestream classes through other closed platforms like SKYPE, Google Hangouts, 8x8, Whatsapp, and FB Messenger Rooms, so long as no recorded video of your class is publicly available once it ends. Please be aware that you cannot teach virtual classes on social media sites like Facebook, Instagram or YouTube (as teaching classes publicly on these platforms hurts our community of instructors and might result in your social media account being disabled for not having the appropriate music licensing).
If I list a class via the Zoom Add-On, how will a student be able to access my class?
They can access all of your classes via zumba.com and strong.zumba.com or via a direct link you will get when you create your class.
Will my students still have to create an account zumba.com?
Yes, they will need to create an account to access all of your classes.
How do I start my Zoom Add-On class?
Go to your Class Management platform and click on START CLASS. You can only start the class up to 15 minutes before the class start time.
Will I have time after class to chat with students?
When you schedule a Zoom Add-On class, you can start it 15 minutes before the class starts and it’ll automatically end 15 minutes after your class endtime. You can use those 15 minutes after class if you want to stay and chat with them.
Is there a limit on how long an individual Zoom class/call can be?
Yes, classes can be scheduled for a maximum of 90 minutes. When you schedule a Zoom Add-On class, you can start it 15 minutes before the class starts and it’ll automatically end 15 minutes after your class endtime (for a total of 120 minutes). You can host as many 90 minute classes as you want per day as long as they don’t overlap and are created at least 3 hours in advance of the class start time.
What is the participant capacity via Zoom Add-On?
You can host up to 300 participants.
Will I have access to my ZIN Play/SYNC Go apps through Zoom Add-On?
You can use ZIN Play or SYNC Go if you are connected to external speakers and using Zoom on your desktop or another device. However, if you are teaching from the Zoom Mobile app, you cannot access ZIN Play or SYNC Go from the same device as the app does not allow you to do so.
Am I able to use Zoom Add-On on the Zoom App?
When you create a Zoom Add-On class on zumba.com, and start the Zoom Add-On class, it will open the ZOOM app on your mobile device or desktop. You will not be able to schedule classes on the Zoom App if you are signed up to Zoom Add-On.
What music can I use to teach on Zoom and are there any music restrictions?
You can use any music you want for your Zoom Add-On classes, but please keep in mind that teaching livestream classes generally requires you to have a public performance license with one or more of the Performance Rights Organizations located in the country in which you are livestreaming. This license gives you the right to stream music during your classes, including your Zoom Add-On classes. Each country has their own Performance Rights Organization(s) and the license is generally not too expensive. If you are already paying for a performance rights license (to teach your in-person classes), this license may also cover your virtual classes - please contact the Performance Rights Organization(s) in your country to confirm. Should you have any questions concerning music licensing issues, please send them to ip@zumba.com.
I already use Zoom Basic, can I continue using it without getting the Zoom Add-On?
Members may continue to use Zoom Basic through the class management platform in the event that they don’t upgrade to the Zoom Add-On, as they’ll continue to have the option to manually enter their Zoom Basic URL as they currently do to post their Zoom classes.
I already have a Zoom Business Plan. Can I change my plan to the Zoom Add-On?
You can choose to keep your Zoom Business Plan with Zoom directly, or you can cancel it and add the Zoom Add-On Upgrade via ZIN™ or SYNC to get our special price for Zoom Business.
I just paid my annual/monthly Zoom payment directly to Zoom. Can this be refunded or applied to Zoom Add-On?
No, you will need to work through any previous cancellation fees with Zoom directly, or you can wait until the end of your pre-paid Zoom contract to then move to Zoom Add-On via ZIN and SYNC.
Is there a way to convert my current Zoom account to Zoom Add-On so I don’t have to set anything up again?
No, you will need to work through any previous Zoom accounts with Zoom directly, and if interested in upgrading to Zoom Add-On via ZIN/SYNC, you’ll need to sign up via your ZIN/SYNC Membership page.
What if I already have a Zoom account and it is integrated with my payment system? Will it still work with Zoom Add-On?
If you already have an account directly with Zoom and you are taking payment via a third party payment supplier like Square, then if you sign-up to Zoom Add-On, you can either take payment through the new class management platform, or you can continue using your own payment methods and manually share the class link with students who have paid you.
Who do I contact if I’m having technical issues with Zoom?
Please contact Zumba Customer Care and if needed we will escalate to Zoom.
