Automated Trading, Bots, EAs & VPS
What's Allowed
10FOUR permits personal trading bots, Expert Advisors (EAs), and VPS (Virtual Private Server) use under the following conditions:
You must be the sole owner of the strategy. The bot or algorithm must be something you personally built or control — not a shared, licensed, or commercially distributed strategy used by other traders.
Disclosure is required. You must notify 10FOUR before running automated trading or using a VPS on your account.
Proof of ownership may be required. 10FOUR reserves the right to request verification — such as a live demonstration of the strategy running on your own setup — to confirm sole ownership and use.
No shared strategies across accounts. If the same automated strategy or VPS setup is detected running across multiple accounts or multiple traders, this will be treated as a violation.
What's Never Allowed
High-Frequency Trading (HFT): any strategy executing extremely high volumes of trades within milliseconds, or exploiting micro-price inefficiencies at high speed — regardless of ownership or disclosure.
Exploiting platform or pricing errors: strategies designed to take advantage of price display discrepancies, feed delays, or other technical issues.
Consequences
If a violation is detected:
First offense: written warning.
Repeated offenses: profits removed, account closed, and possible permanent restriction from future accounts.
