What does a “handicap” bet mean?

Updated over 3 months ago

A handicap bet is a type of bet where one team or player is given a virtual advantage or disadvantage (in the form of goals or points).
This helps to balance the odds and make the game more dynamic.

Possible outcomes:

  • If your team wins after applying the handicap — the bet is won.

  • If the result after applying the handicap is a draw — it’s a refund (odds = 1).

  • If the opponent wins after applying the handicap — the bet is lost.

Examples:

  • Bet 50 ₺ on Manchester United to win with a handicap of +2.
    Final score: 2–2 → with handicap: 4–2 → win.
    Payout: 50 ₺ × 2.5 = 125 ₺

  • The same bet (50 ₺) with handicap +2, score 2–4 → with handicap: 4–4 → refund.
    Payout: 50 ₺ × 1 = 50 ₺

  • The same bet (50 ₺) with handicap +1, score 2–4 → with handicap: 3–4 → loss.
    Payout: 0 ₺
