Synchronizing the 1Place Childcare application is essential as it ensures that completed checklists and logged activities are correctly uploaded to the server, preventing data loss or discrepancies. It also re-establishes communication with the server if there’s a connectivity issue, and keeps data consistent when several users or devices are involved.
Where to synchronize my app?
In the upper right-hand side of your screen, you'll see a cloud icon: This icon displays your current connectivity status.
If your Wi-Fi or mobile data connection is interrupted, a Working offline banner appears and the status dot turns grey. This means the connection to the 1Place servers has been lost.
If this occurs, there’s no need to worry. With our enhanced offline and drafts functionality, you can continue working on most of your tasks even if your connection is lost.
Anything you work on offline is saved automatically to the Drafts section, and changes are saved to your device as you make them. If you leave a checklist you haven’t finished, you can save it as a draft or discard it. When you reconnect, a banner will remind you to submit your saved drafts.
Connection Status box
By tapping the cloud icon, you can open the Connection Status box, it shows details about your current connection, including the date and time of your last sync.
How to manually sync my app?
If you expect to be without an internet connection for a while, sync with the server before you go. Tap the cloud icon to open the Connection Status box, then press Sync Now to make sure your data is up to date before you leave Wi-Fi or mobile data range.
The syncing process captures the most recent data for all your accessible Centres, Rooms, checklist templates, schedules, ticket categories, and other relevant information:
Why do I need to sync my app manually?
When your device is connected to the internet, the app syncs in the background once a week by default.
If you need your device to sync more often, go to Settings → Sync data for offline and change the frequency to Daily.
It’s also a good practice to sync manually if you expect to be somewhere with poor or no internet access. The app keeps working even if you lose your Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.
