The scientific framework used by 360-Talents includes ability to act as an essential element of soft skills. Ability to act is about the ability to act. Actions and behavior are often used as synonyms. However, the terms are not the same. The difference between behavior and action lies in the conscious intention and goal-directedness:

Human behavior describes any action, including unconscious or automatic reactions to certain stimuli or circumstances.

Human actions are always conscious in nature and goal-directed. It is an intentional activity in which a person makes a decision and proceeds with a clear intention or a specific goal.

Conscious and goal-oriented implementation

Action is the concrete, conscious implementation that is aimed at a goal. It is the visible result of motivation and an underlying motive. Without a motive and motivation, there is no conscious action.

Cause and drive of action

A motive is the reason for a person's action. Motivation is the inner drive that moves a person to pursue their goal. Action is the visible, goal-oriented behavior that results from the motive and motivation. Together, these elements work as a kind of chain in which the motive is the cause, the motivation is the drive, and the action is the means to achieve the desired goal.
