Use this guide to set up remote access so our support team can connect to your machine. You can use one of the following options:

  • Remote access built into the 3DPrinterOS Raspberry Pi image

  • RustDesk (via our server)

  • AnyDesk

RustDesk is free and open source. AnyDesk is also acceptable if you prefer it.

RustDesk setup (Windows)

Step 1: Download and run RustDesk

Step 2: Configure RustDesk to use our server

  1. Open RustDesk.

  2. Locate your RustDesk ID on the main screen.

  3. Click the three dots icon next to the ID and open Settings.

  4. Go to Network.

  5. Enter the server details provided to you by support.

    • Do not fill in any other fields.

  6. Click Apply.

Important:
The server address and key are shared privately by our support team.
Please request them in chat or by email before continuing.

Step 3: Set a permanent password

  1. In Settings, go to Security.

  2. Scroll to the Password section.

  3. Switch to Permanent password.

  4. Create a password.

Step 4: First connection prompt

On the first connection, Windows may ask you to confirm privilege elevation. Please approve it so support can work properly.

After completing the steps above, send support the following:

  • Your RustDesk ID (shown on the main RustDesk screen)

  • Your permanent password

  • Your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, Raspberry Pi)

You can send this information in chat or by email to illia@3dprinteros.com.

RustDesk setup (macOS, Linux, other)

Use the official RustDesk client documentation:
https://rustdesk.com/docs/en/client/

After installing:

  • Apply the server details provided by our support team

  • Set a permanent password in Security settings

If you are using our Raspberry Pi image

Do not install RustDesk.

Enable remote access in the 3DPrinterOS client Web UI, then tell support that remote access is enabled.

Troubleshooting

If support cannot connect

Check these in order:

  1. Network settings

    • Settings → Network

    • ID Server is correct

    • Key is pasted exactly

    • You clicked Apply

  2. Password setting

    • Settings → Security → Password

    • Permanent password is enabled (not temporary)

  3. First time elevation

    • If a prompt appears during the first connection, approve privilege elevation

  4. Still not working

    • Close and reopen RustDesk

    • Try again

    • If you are on a restricted corporate network, outbound connections may be blocked

AnyDesk

If you prefer AnyDesk, that is fine.
Send support your AnyDesk ID and connection password.
