This guide will walk you through the steps to create and display an alert modal to all users within your organization using the 3DPrinterOS platform.

Step 1: Access Organization Admin Settings

  1. Log in to your 3DPrinterOS account and ensure you have administrative privileges.

  2. Navigate to the Organization Admin Settings.

Step 2: Enable Alert Banner Feature

  1. In the Organization Admin Settings menu, find and click on Customization.

  2. Look for the option "Show an Alert banner for all the users in the Organization."

  3. Toggle this option on to enable the feature.

Step 3: Configure the Alert Modal

Once the banner feature is enabled, you’ll need to configure the alert by providing the following details:

  1. Enter the URL for your Google Docs file:

    • Ensure the document you want to share is published on the web. To do this:

      • Open your Google Docs file.

      • Go to File > Share > Publish to web.

      • Copy the generated URL and paste it into the URL field in the 3DPrinterOS settings.

  2. Enter the Alert Title:

    • This will be the headline of your alert. Make it clear and concise to ensure users understand the importance of the message.

  3. Enter the Menu Item Name:

    • This name will appear in the menu to help users navigate to the alert. Choose a relevant name that reflects the content of the alert.

Step 4: Save and Display the Alert

  1. After entering all the required information, click on "Save changes"

    • This action will save your settings and immediately display the alert to all users in the organization.

Step 5: Understanding the Modal Behavior

  • Persistent Alert: The alert modal will appear for users until they acknowledge it by clicking "OK".

  • Reappearance: If a user closes the modal without clicking "OK," it will be shown again the next time they log in or switch devices/browsers.

  • Acknowledge Once: Once a user clicks "OK," the system remembers this action, and the modal will not reappear on any other browser or device for that user.

  • Force Re-show: If needed, you can force the modal to reappear for all users by going back to the Org Settings and clicking the "Save and Re-show the modal for all users" button.

Important Note

Ensure that the Google Docs file you attach is published on the web. This step is crucial as it will look different. Here's an example:
