Overview

The Global Catalog Browser by AgentIQ allows merchants to audit how their products perform against the entire Shopify Global Catalog. Unlike standard SEO tools that look at keywords, this tool utilizes the Agentic Commerce API to simulate how AI models (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot) interpret natural language user intents.

Use this tool to benchmark your visibility, understand why competitors are ranking for specific queries, and identify gaps in your product data.

Performing a Custom Search

You can run ad-hoc queries to test specific user intents and see real-time results from the global ecosystem.

  1. Navigate to Custom Search: Locate the search bar at the top of the Global Catalog Browser interface.

  2. Enter a User Intent: Type a natural language query or "intent" that a potential customer might use.

    • Example: "I'm in a tent for a family of 4 with a chance of rain."

  3. Search: Click the Search Catalog button.

    • Note: The tool will query the entire Shopify ecosystem, not just your specific store.

Analyzing Search Results

Once the search is complete, the tool displays the top products that AI models would return for that specific intent.

The Results Dashboard

  • Rank Status:

    • Unlisted: If your store’s products do not appear in the top results (typically top 10), you will see an "Unlisted" warning. This indicates that even if you have compatible products, the AI model did not select them over competitors.

    • Ranked: If your product appears, you will see its specific position.

  • Competitor Cards: The dashboard displays the winning products from other stores. Each card includes:

    • Store Name: The merchant selling the item.

    • Price: Current listing price.

    • Top Features: Key attributes the AI identified as relevant to the query (e.g., "Waterproof," "4-person capacity").

Deep Dive: Product Details

To understand exactly why a competitor's product was selected, click View Details on any product card. This opens a modal containing:

  • Why This Product: A logic breakdown explaining the AI's selection reasoning (e.g., "Includes a waterproof canopy... suitable for family camping").

  • Top Features: A checklist of features that matched the user's intent.

  • Technical Specifications: Hard data such as dimensions, weight, and capacity.

  • Visit Store: A direct link to the competitor's product page for further research.

Managing Tracked Queries

The Tracked Queries section allows you to monitor the performance of your most important search terms over time.

Running Tracked Queries

  1. View List: Scroll down to the "Tracked Queries" table.

  2. Run Individual or Bulk:

    • Click Run Query next to a specific line item to update just that intent.

    • Click Run All in the top right to process all tracked queries in parallel against the live catalog.

Interpreting Metrics

  • Ranking: Your product's position in the result list (or "Unlisted").

  • Score: A relevance percentage indicating how well your product matches the intent.

  • 7-Day Avg: Your average relevance score over the past week.

  • Products: The number of your products that matched the query.

Current Limitations

  • Personalization: The current results are generalized. Actual AI results for shoppers may vary based on their personal browsing history and specific location.
