User Roles and Permissions

What roles are the best fit for your users? Learn more about each role, the permissions they have, and who we recommend assigning.

On the 86 Repairs platform, eight roles are available for users to choose from. These roles impact the users' default settings and permissions.

Below you can find the descriptions for each role, what permissions they have, and who we recommend assigning to each role.


Location Staff

Location Staff are on site and are directly impacted by equipment going down. They're not making decisions for R&M, but do want to be kept in the loop on any R&M updates that impact their store, such as when a vendor will be on site.

86 Repairs recommends that Kitchen Staff, Line Cooks, Managers, and Assistant Managers are assigned to this role.

Permissions

  • Can open service requests

  • Can view location details, like the vendor roster

  • Can view contacts associated with their store

  • Can their own profile

  • Can view assets associated with their store

  • Can view and edit what notifications they'll receive


Location Leader

Location Leaders are the primary decision makers for their location. They need to know as much as possible about every request for their store, such as when a new request is created, when a vendor is scheduled to arrive at site, and when a request has been reported as resolved.

86 Repairs recommends that General Managers are assigned to this role.

Permissions

  • Can open and close service requests

  • Can view location details, like the vendor roster

  • Can view contacts associated with their store

  • Can edit Location Leaders and Location Staff associated with their store

  • Can view and edit assets associated with their store

  • Can be marked as a billing contact and/or invoice approver

  • Can view and edit what notifications they'll receive

  • Can view Insights reporting


Area Leader

Area Leaders are in charge of more than one store and aren't involved in the day-to-day store-level operations. They need to be in the know for larger repairs and be tapped in if the Location Leaders are unresponsive.

86 Repairs recommends that Area Supervisors and Area Managers are assigned to this role.

Permissions

  • Can open and close service requests

  • Can view and edit location details, like the vendor roster

  • Can view contacts associated with their stores

  • Can edit Area Leaders, Location Leaders, and Location Staff associated with their stores

  • Can view and edit assets associated with their stores

  • Can be marked as a billing contact and/or invoice approver

  • Can view and edit what notifications they'll receive

  • Can view Insights reporting


Company Leader

Company Leaders are the strategic decision makers for the company. They're not involved directly with stores for day-to-day operations, but are involved in high level decision making.

86 Repairs recommends that Directors of Operations, Directors of Facilities, Owners, and Partners are assigned ot this role.

Permissions

  • Can open and close service requests

  • Can view and edit location details, like the vendor roster

  • Can view and edit any contacts associated with their stores

  • Can view and edit assets associated with their stores

  • Can be marked as a billing contact and/or invoice approver

  • Can view and edit what notifications they'll receive

  • Can view Insights reporting


Technician

Technicians are employed by the company to perform services at the stores.

86 Repairs recommends that Internal Technicians and Handymen are assigned to this role.

Permissions

  • Can open and close service requests

  • Can view and edit location details, like the vendor roster

  • Can view contacts associated with their stores

  • Can view and edit assets associated with their stores

  • Can view and edit what notifications they'll receive

  • Can be assigned to requests and added to the vendor roster

  • Can decline requests and redirect to a different Technician

  • Can view Insights reporting

  • Can edit their own vendor profile


Technician Leader

Technician Leaders are employed by the company to perform services at the stores and help manage other Technicians on their team. They're involved in making decisions on who performs service and whether an external vendor is needed for a repair.

86 Repairs recommends that Directors of Facilities and Lead Technicians are assigned to this role.

Permissions

  • Can open and close service requests

  • Can view and edit location details, like the vendor roster

  • Can view contacts associated with their stores

  • Can view and edit assets associated with their stores

  • Can view and edit what notifications they'll receive

  • Can be assigned to requests and added to the vendor roster

  • Can decline requests and redirect to a different Technician and external technicians

  • Can view Insights reporting

  • Can edit their own vendor profile


Finance

Finance users need access to the 86 Repairs platform to view insights related to R&M. They're not involved in any day-to-day decision making for R&M.

86 Repairs recommends that Accounts Payable, Controllers, Directors of Finance, and Accountants are assigned to this role.

Permissions

  • Can open and close service requests

  • Can view and edit location details, like the vendor roster

  • Can view and edit any contacts associated with their stores

  • Can view and edit assets associated with their stores

  • Can be marked as a billing contact and/or invoice approver

  • Can view and edit what notifications they'll receive

  • Can view Insights reporting


Brand Leader

Brand Leaders are best suited for hospitality groups with multiple operators under the same franchise.

Ask your 86 Repairs Onboarding Manager if assigning the Brand Leader role to a user is the right for your organization.
