Adding Your Logos, Icons, & Images to Your Box Design

Use our 3D Design Tool to add your unique branding and imagery to your packaging project.

Updated this week

Our Design Studio makes creating branded packaging simple and fun. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Choose Your Box Type: Select the style that fits your needs.

  2. Enter Dimensions & Quantity: Input your box size and how many you need.

  3. Click “Design Box Online”: You’re ready to start customizing!

Using the Design Studio

The design tool includes everything you need to create a standout box:

  • Upload Your Images - Add your own photos, logos, or artwork.

  • Explore Free Graphics - Access a library of shapes and illustrations.

  • Customize Text - Choose from dozens of fonts to make your message pop.

  • Pick Backgrounds - Use pre-designed patterns or solid colors for extra flair.

All these options are available in the left-hand panel. Just click and create!

Accepted File Formats

We support JPEG and PNG files.

If your image is in another format, email us at help@boxgenie.com, and we’ll help convert it.

File Size Limit: Images must be 120MB or smaller. For larger files, we recommend designing offline.

Adding Images

Here’s how to add and adjust images in the designer:

  1. Import: Click “My Images” in the left panel or drag files into your browser.

  2. Add to Project: Drag your uploaded image onto your box design.

  3. Resize: Drag a corner or use the zoom tool.

  4. Crop: Use the green squares on the edges.

  5. Delete: Click the image and hit the trash icon if you need to remove it.

Understanding Crease & Cut Lines

Your template shows blue and red lines:

  • Blue = Cut Lines

    • Keep designs at least ⅛” (.125”) away to avoid trimming.

  • Red = Fold Lines

    • Keep artwork ⅛” (.125”) away so it doesn’t land on a crease.

This helps to ensure artwork and design elements are not trimmed off or applied to a crease during normal shifting in the production process.

Image Quality Tips

Resolution: Aim for 225–300 DPI for crisp printing.

Scale & Clarity Indicators

The designer uses intelligence to look at the scale of the image uploaded compared to the size rendered on the box.

  1. 😊 Happy Face: Image looks great.

  2. 😐 Neutral Face: Slight distortion - consider resizing.

  3. ☹️ Frowny Face: High distortion - resize smaller.

If your image looks fuzzy, reduce its size on the canvas. If it’s too small, go back to the original file and save it at a higher DPI.
