Every box that leaves our facility is completely custom in its nature -- yours included. We celebrate creativity and have options for designers who prefer to design offline in specific design programs.

Creating Your Box Dielines

Our team can instantly provide you with a PDF file of your box dielines. Dielines are the blueprint of your box and contain the exact specifications to begin your design. Your file will include:

  • Cutting lines

  • Crease lines

  • Bleed areas

1. Inputting Your Box Specifications

To begin, select your project's box type and enter your paper type, printing side options, and dimensions:

Please check that all of your inputted information is accurate before proceeding.

To retrieve your dielines begin by inputting your project specifications and box measurements on boxgenie.com

2. Retrieving a PDF of Your Dielines

You have two options when it comes to retrieving your PDF. After you've completed inputting your box specifications, you can select from one of the following options:

  • Click the "Order Now & Send In Your Design" button. You will receive instructions in your email inbox regarding how to submit your design.

Or, alternatively, you can:

  • Click the "Design Box Online Now" button. This will open up our 3D Design Tool. Using the left-hand panel select "More" and then "Download Template File". Your PDF will automatically begin downloading.

Designing in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop

Once you have your unique guidelines you can begin designing in programs like Adobe Illustrator. Our team recommends that you convert your file into a workable PDF if you are designing in Illustrator.

For those designing in Photoshop, please design in CMYK 300 DPI at 100% of the finished size.

Expert tip: As a best practice, please do not flatten the dieline into your graphics.

Other File Types

Have another file type you'd prefer to use? Please send a note to one of our team members via website chat or by emailing us at help@boxgenie.com.

Submitting Your Template

When you’re ready, upload a copy of your project design to the 3D Design Tool using the left-hand panel. Or, provide your final artwork to a member of our team. Begin the design handover by following the initial email instructions provided to you after choosing "Order Now & Send In Your Design".

Please be sure to review your artwork, box dimensions, material types, print options, and quantity before placing your order. Upon order placement, our pre-press team will review your file before it enters production.
