Learn what information we collect when you use CUSP, why it’s required, and how it’s handled.

Updated over 3 months ago

At CUSP, we believe transparency builds trust. We only collect information necessary to create and protect your account, meet regulatory requirements, and deliver the best possible experience.

1. During account creation and registration

We collect basic details to set up your profile:

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Date of birth

  • Residential address

2. For KYC (Know Your Customer) verification

As part of UAE and DFSA regulations, you must complete identity checks before investing:

  • Government-issued ID (e.g., passport or Emirates ID)

  • Selfie or live photo for identity match

  • Proof of address (e.g., utility bill or bank statement, if requested)

This ensures your account is tied to your real identity and helps protect against fraud and money laundering.

3. For deposits and withdrawals

To process funding and withdrawals securely, we collect:

  • Bank name

  • Account number / IBAN

  • Currency and account details

🔒 Your banking credentials are never stored by CUSP.

All transfers are made directly from your own bank account using the bank details displayed in the CUSP app.

4. When using the app

To improve your experience and keep the app running smoothly, we may collect:

  • Device information (e.g., operating system, app version)

  • Usage data (e.g., which features you use most)

  • Notification preferences

This helps us optimise performance and tailor your experience.

5. For regulatory and security purposes

As a regulated entity, we may also retain:

  • Transaction history (deposits, withdrawals, trades)

  • Communication records (support chats, emails)

  • Compliance data (flags, escalations, approvals)

6. Information shared with our broker (Alpaca)

To execute trades and hold your assets securely, CUSP partners with Alpaca Securities LLC, a regulated US broker-dealer and custodian.

For this, we share only the information required to:

  • Open your brokerage account with Alpaca (name, address, date of birth, government ID, and contact details)

  • Meet US securities regulatory requirements (e.g., AML checks)

  • Enable trading and custody services (your portfolio and transaction data)

Your data is never sold to third parties.

Everything is handled under DFSA, ADGM, and SEC/FINRA standards.
