When you receive payments via Stripe for your tournament—whether it’s fees from participants, sponsorships, or other revenue—those funds are eventually transferred to your bank account. Here’s how the process works, what you can expect, and how to manage your payout settings.

1. First Payout

Before your very first payout, Stripe applies a short delay. This helps with fraud-prevention, identity verification, and ensuring your account is set up correctly.

  • For your new Stripe account (connected via Event Caddy), the first payout is typically sent 7 business days after your first successful payment is received.

  • That means: if your first payment comes in on Tuesday, your first payout would be scheduled for the business day that falls at least 7 business days later.

  • Depending on your country or business category, this initial delay might vary slightly.

2. Ongoing Payout Schedule

Once your first payout has successfully been sent and your Stripe account is active, further payouts follow your configured schedule.
Please note: your account may default to Manual (i.e., you initiate payouts yourself) unless you switch it to Automatic.

Manual vs. Automatic Payouts

  • Manual payouts: Your funds remain in your Stripe balance, and you manually initiate each payout to your bank.

  • Automatic payouts: Stripe sends your available balance to your bank automatically on a schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly) where supported.

Standard Timing by Region

Below are typical timing examples for some major regions:

Region

Standard Timing

Example

United States 🇺🇸

Approx. 2 business days

Payment received Tuesday → Payout Thursday

Australia 🇦🇺

Approx. 2 business days

Payment received Tuesday → Payout Thursday

Canada 🇨🇦

Approx. 7 calendar days

Payment received Tuesday → Payout following Tuesday

United Kingdom 🇬🇧 & Europe 🇪🇺

Approx. 7 calendar days

Payment received Tuesday → Payout following Tuesday

For countries not listed above, please refer to the full Stripe schedule:

3. How to Update Your Payout Settings

Here’s how to switch from Manual to Automatic (if supported for your country/account):

  1. Log into your Stripe Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Bank accounts & schedule (or Payouts and bank accounts).

  3. Locate the “Payout schedule” section.

  4. Select Automatic and then choose your preferred frequency: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.

  5. Save your settings.

⚠️ Note: Some countries or account types might only support Manual payouts due to local banking rules or risk profile. If you don’t see Automatic options, it may not be available in your region yet.

4. What’s the Time-Frame for Funds to Arrive?

Once a payout is initiated (either automatically or manually), the time it takes for the funds to hit your bank account depends on your bank and country. Generally expect 1–3 business days from the payout initiation. You can check the status and history of your payouts in the “Payouts” tab of your Stripe Dashboard.
