In short we try to be as fair as possible and will pro-rate both your base subscription fee and coach add on fee where possible.
Changing subscription plans and Pro-Rata Payments:
If you downgrade a plan or move from Pro to Unlimited, the change will only come into effect at the next billing period date. You can change your mind at any point up to that date. If you decide to move to Starter, and at the billing date you have > 5 active client subscriptions, we'll keep you on your current plan as it won't be possible to downgrade you.
Pro-rated subscription payments only apply if you're moving from:
Starter to Pro
Starter to Unlimited.
At the start of the month we'll charge you based on the Starter package for the full month. If during the month you decide to upgrade we'll effectively work out how much you owe down to the precise second, so you pay exactly what you should have based on your time on the Starter package and then either the Pro or Unlimited package.
Let's use an example. You're on the Starter plan at £19.99 and there are 31 days in the month. On day 19 you decide to upgrade to the Pro plan at £49.99.
Let's work out how much 18 days on the Starter plan costs.
£19.99 / 31 = Cost per Day on the Starter plan:
= £0.65
18 full days on the Starter plan costs:
18 x £0.65 = £11.61
You have already paid £19.99 so you have 'overpaid' by:
£19.99 - £11.61 = £8.39
By overpaid we mean that we charged you on the 1st of the month (in this example) for a full month assuming you'd stay at the Starter Plan. Rather than refund and then charge you more, we use it to offset any additional charges. Here's how we calculate those:
Payment required for the Pro plan for the rest of the month:
£49.99 / 31 = Cost per Day = £1.61
Number of days left to pay = 31 - 18 = 13 days
13 days x £1.61 = £20.93
However, you've already 'overpaid' by £8.39, so the extra pro-rated payment is:
£20.93 - £8.39 = £12.54
Note that we have rounded in our example but in reality it will be exact.
Adding Coaches and Pro-Rata Payments:
Note that this only applies to either the Starter or Pro plans. Unlimited plan users can add and remove as many coaches as they like in their fixed one-off annual charge.
Example when in a Trial period:
Account owner registered on January 3rd.
Selects £49.99 plan and adds a credit card.
First billing date - 17th January.
Account owner invites an additional coach on January 5th.
Amount chargeable on January 17th = £49.99 subscription + £9.99 for 1 additional coach
Example after Trial period (add new coach):
Account owner registered on January 3rd.
Selects £49.99 plan and adds a credit card.
First billing date - 17th January.
Account owner invites an additional coach on January 5th.
Amount chargeable on January 17th = £49.99 subscription + £9.99 for 1 additional coach.
On February 10th the account owner invites 1 more additional coach.
Amount chargeable on February 17th = £49.99 subscription + £19.98 for 2 additional coaches + pro-rated charge for the 2nd coach for 7 days in February, from February 10th to February 17th.
Example after Trial period (add & cancel new coach):
Account owner registered on January 3rd.
Selects £49.99 plan and adds a credit card.
First billing date - 17th January.
Account owner invites an additional coach on January 5th.
Amount chargeable on January 17th = £49.99 subscription + £9.99 for 1 additional coach.
On February 10th the account owner invites 1 more additional coach.
On February 15th the account owner removes 1 of the coaches.
Amount chargeable on February 17th = £49.99 subscription + £9.99 for coach + pro-rated money for 5 days in February, from February 10th to February 15th for the 2nd coach who was removed.
