Overview

Sometimes you may get customers that are either tax-exempt or have a different tax rate than your normal customers:

  • People who live on a university campus may not pay taxes in one city

  • Some people are not subject to sales tax, or

  • Some people may have a lower tax rate if they are non-profit

To accommodate these customers, Launch27 allows you to set a special sales tax that will be used when calculating the sales taxes owed for their bookings.

How to Add a Special Sales Tax for a Customer

  1. Go to the Customers page and click on the customer you want to add a special sales tax for

  2. In the Customer info section, click on the settings icon, then click on Special Sales Tax

3. In the modal window, set Special Sales Tax to On

4. Set the Tax percentage and enter a Description for this special sales tax

5. Click Save

The system will now use the special sales tax for all of the customer’s upcoming bookings (i.e the bookings that have not been marked as completed).

How to Disable the Special Sales Tax for a Customer

  1. Go to the Customers page and click on the customer you want to add a special sales tax for

  2. In the Customer info section, click on the settings icon, then click on Special Sales Tax

  3. In the modal window, set Special Sales Tax to Off

The system will now use the normal sales tax rate set in your account for all of the customer’s upcoming bookings (i.e the bookings that have not been marked as completed).
