There’s now an option to show a Discount Code field on the gift card form (Note: set to HIDDEN by Default).
When you enable it, a Discount Code field is displayed on the Gift Card Form so that customer's can use a discount code on their gift card purchase.
1. Go to Settings > Promotions > Gift Cards
2. Check the “Show Discount Code” field on the gift card form
3. Click Save Changes
4. Go to Settings > Promotions > Discount Codes to create a new code to discount gift card purchases
5. Select “Gift Card” as the Discount type and set up your code
6. Save changes
Important:
Since gift card discount codes can have restrictions set to them, if you are testing on the customer facing form, be sure to add in recipient and purchaser info into the form so that the system will accept the discount code for the purchase
