Overview

Launch 27 gives you the option of adding a sales tax to the final amount of all of your bookings.

You simply set the sales tax percentage (i.e. 5%) in your site settings and we’ll multiply it by the amount for the booking (after discounts and price adjustments are applied).

How to Enable Sales Tax

  1. Go to Settings > Sales Taxes

  2. Click Enable Sales Tax feature

  3. A modal popup will appear. Click the switch to change it from Off to On

  4. If you’ve never added a sales tax to your account before, you must do the following: Set an Effective Date for your sales tax. This date indicates that the sales tax will be added to all bookings that have not been paid for yet, and have a service date on/after the Effective Date. Set a percentage value for your Tax

  5. Check the box to confirm you understand the disclaimer and click Save Changes

FAQs

How is Sales Tax calculated?

Sales Tax is calculated by multiplying the sales tax rate by the final amount of the booking after discounts and price adjustments are applied.

For example, if you have a booking for $100 and a sales tax rate of 5%, the Final Amount of the booking will be $105.00.

Does the Sales Tax include any Tips/Gratuity paid by the Customer?

No, the sales tax is calculate before tip/gratuity is included. Building off the previous example, if there was a tip added for $10, the Final Amount of the booking will be $115.00 ($105 + $10).

What if the sales tax rate has changed, what do I do?

Create a new Sales tax, and make the effective date the date you want the new tax rate to kick in on bookings.

DO NOT update the active sales tax to a new one and change the effective date as it will cause the system to recalculate tax on completed bookings.
