Overview

Automaid allows you to send various Text Message (aka SMS) alerts to your Customers and Teams.

  • Customer appointment reminders

  • Team schedules

  • Team invitations

Automaid integrates with Twilio to send these text messages from a phone number of your choice, and all messages are customizable.

Go to Settings > Twilio to sync your paid Twilio account into the system

How to Enable Text Message Reminders:

Text message reminders are enabled by default, but just in case, here’s how you can enable/disable them:

  1. Go to Settings > Miscellaneous > Scheduled Tasks

  2. Select the Settings icon next to Send Booking Reminder Emails and SMS

  3. Select Enable Task

(Note: You can also select Edit, to choose the time you want the reminder emails and SMS messages to be sent)

How to Show Text Message Opt-in on your Booking Form

  1. Go to Settings > Booking Form and choose the Default or Premium Form Designer (depending on which form you are using on your site)

  2. Select the SMS Notification checkbox field in the Preview area

  3. Uncheck the Hidden setting checkbox

  4. Click Save

Enable Text Message Schedules to Teams:

To enable the team Daily Schedule text message, you have to enable its text message template:

  1. Go to Settings > Text Messages

  2. If this text message template is disabled, you will see a red Disabled button next to Daily Schedule SMS. To enable this, click the red Disabled button and it will change to a green Enabled button that indicates this text message template is now enabled.

Customize your Text Messages

  1. Go to Settings > Text Messages

  2. Select the message template you want to edit and make your changes (you can refer to this list of liquid tags to populate specific booking information)

  3. Select Save. (You can also select Send a Test to send a sample Text Message to yourself)

PLEASE NOTE: TWILIO has a character limit for SMS messages of 160.

Any message over 160 characters, will be split and sent by Twilio in two messages which will in turn cost you more.

Check out Twilio's Support doc on SMS character limits here for more details.
