Copilot for documentation

Using Copilot within your document templates is a powerful way to customise how your documents behave and function.

Updated this week

Getting Started

1. Navigate to Document Templates

  1. Go to System Setup in the main menu.

  2. Select Document Templates.
This is where all existing document templates are stored.

2. Clone the Document Template

CoPilot can only be used on non-system defaults.

  1. Find the document template you want to customise.

  2. Click Clone to make a copy.

  3. Open the newly cloned template.

3. Access the Copilot Tab

  1. Inside the cloned template, locate and click the Copilot tab.
This opens the AI editing workspace where Copilot can modify the document for you.

4. Tell Copilot What You Want

  1. In the Copilot text box, type a description of what you want the document to do.
    Examples:

    • “Add a totals section at the bottom.”

    • “Insert a table showing item quantities and prices.”

  2. After a few moments, Copilot will generate a revised version of the document based on your request.

5. Review and Accept (or Undo) Changes

  1. Review the revision that Copilot provides.

  2. If you’re happy with the changes, you can continue customising or save the document.

  3. If you don’t like the revisions, you can go back and revert to the previous version.
