Erase some or all your data in OnRent

Updated over 2 years ago

Time to go live? If you created test data during the 30 day trial, it’s a good idea to delete that data before you start using OnRent for your business. Go to System Setup > Erase Data to delete some or all the records in your system.

You can choose which types of data you want to delete, this is useful if you if you have set up your products and stock levels and just need to delete some test orders or invoices.

What can you delete?

  • Invoices

  • Unavailable Items

  • Orders

  • Purchase Orders

  • Works Orders

  • Stock Items

  • Service Resources

  • Products

  • Services

  • Product Groups

  • Activities

  • Projects

  • Accounts

  • Contacts

  • Places

Get Started

To erase your data head to System Setup > Erase Data.

You will see the following screen:

Simply select what records you would like to delete and click Erase.

You will then need to enter your password to confirm.

⚠️   This process is NOT reversible. It will permanently erase all data from the selected areas.

Linked records

As you use OnRent, you create links between your records. For example, when you add products to orders and invoices, links are created between them for historic revenue reporting.

When records are linked, you can’t delete them unless you delete all linked records. In the case above, you can’t delete all your products if you’ve added them to orders – you’ll need to delete both the products and the orders.
