Easily create a quick price for your prospects or customers, create a basket then easily convert to an order

The Add to Basket feature is designed to:

  • Easily allow users to create a basket on the fly without creating an order

  • Put together a list of items with an expected start and end date to be able to give a customer a quick verbal price on rental and sales items

  • Add individual items, group bookings or accessories from the various OnRent screens (stock view, product pages etc).

  • Easily convert the basket to a Quotation, Provisional Order or Order

First of all, ensure the "Basket" setting is set under System Setup > Roles then find the Actions tab and choose set the role option "Basket" to on.

Once this is done you will see the Basket link on the left menu bar.

This will enable a docked menu to appear on the right hand side of the screen.

You don't have to choose an account first - it might be that the person you are talking to has not yet got an account setup in OnRent.

If they haven't it's so easy to add a new account if needed. First of all, search for them - if no account appears, click on Add Account, you can then go and create one for them to capture the prospective customers details.

If you have a pre-existing customer with agreed prices, these will automatically load when you select the account.

You can then go ahead and search for items in the basket pull-out menu and these can then be added to the list. If the item has accessories then these can be selected in the basket pull-out menu.

You can also add sales or rental items (depending on the settings on the product) from:

  • The Products screen (allows you to add a reserved item)

    • Note that the Products screen will show the Default Rate or Selling price to easily provide you with a quick idea of the charge to the customer.

  • The Stock View screen (allows you to add unique items and bulk items directly)

  • The Availability screen (allows you to add a reserved booking)

Note: When select a product from the aforementioned screens, the accessory selection will appear via a popup box.

When you've finished, you can then convert the basket to a Quote, Provisional Booking or Order with one click (you have to create or select an Account first before you can do this).

Once that's done you can progress the Order as required.

Notes:

  • If changing depot, the basket is cleared.

  • You can remove the account or change it and the prices will reset accordingly.

  • If you change the dates in the basket, the rental rates are automatically recalculated.

  • Stock availability is not checked automatically when creating a basket at present - however you can see stock availability of items before you add them to the basket via the Quick Add function and various screens

  • Adding items to a basket does not affect availability until the subsequent order has been created
