In order to change or update your payment information, you will need to access your Apple ID account. You can do this by following the instructions below for both the iPhone and iPad: This guide focuses exclusively on payment methods for Apple devices and does not cover other platforms.
1. Open the Settings app
2. Tap your name at the top (Apple ID banner).
3. Tap Payment & Shipping (you may need to sign in).
You’ll see a list of payment methods:
To edit an existing card: tap it → Edit → update details → Done.
To add a card: tap Add Payment Method → enter details → Done.
To remove one: tap Edit, then the red Remove button → Remove.
After you update your payment information, Apple may place a temporary authorization hold on your payment method to verify your account. This is not an actual charge and will be removed by your financial institution shortly. If you continue to experience issues with authorization holds, consider contacting your bank or Apple's support team for assistance.
