AB831 California Law – What It Means for PICKEM Players

California’s new law, AB 831, will end Sweepstakes Coin (SC) gameplay in the state starting January 1, 2026. To comply with the law and ensure a smooth transition for players, PICKEM is updating our platform and making necessary adjustments for users located in California.

Below you'll find the key dates and what they mean for your gameplay experience.


Key Dates

December 1

California users will receive in-app notifications explaining the changes coming due to AB 831.

December 17

California users will receive a reminder email explaining the changes coming due to AB 831.

December 22

Last day for California players to participate in SC gameplay and redeem Sweepstakes Coins.
After this date, SC gameplay and SC redemptions will no longer be available to users located in California.


January 1

AB 831 officially takes effect in California.


What This Means Going Forward

PICKEM is actively updating our platform to comply with AB 831. We will provide a smooth transition for all California players and ensure continued access to the platform in accordance with the new legal requirements.
