What to Do If TransUnion Asked You to Call RentPrep to Update Your Information

How Can I Update My Information?

If TransUnion has verified your identity but asked you to call RentPrep to update your date of birth (DOB) or Social Security Number (SSN), follow these steps:

  1. Go back to the original screening request link and log in to your account.

  2. Re-enter your information accurately, ensuring that you update any details that TransUnion specifically instructed you to correct.

  3. Once the updated information is submitted, your report will be processed and made available for the landlord to view.

Why am I being prompted to call TransUnion after I have updated my information?

In some cases, even after you update your information, you may still be prompted to call TransUnion. This happens if the IDMA (identity verification) exam couldn't be completed during your first call due to incorrect personal information.

Once you've updated your details, you can call TransUnion again to complete the IDMA exam. After successfully completing the exam, your report will be processed, and the landlord will be able to view it.
