The Lyric Video Maker lets you turn any track into a polished TikTok or Instagram Reels video with your lyrics displayed on screen — no editing software, no design experience needed. Here's how to use it from start to finish.

How to access it

Click Lyric video maker in the left sidebar of your Soundlink dashboard. You'll see a Beta badge next to it — the feature is fully functional and actively being improved.

Step 1: Pick your track

Click the song card at the top of the preview (it shows your current track name and album art). A "Find your sound" panel will appear — you can search for a song by name, paste a Spotify track/playlist URL directly, or select a track from your My Library list if you've used it before.

Step 2: Add your lyrics and load the audio

Once you select a track, a "Set up song" window opens. There are two things to set up here:

Audio — Soundlink will attempt to automatically fetch the audio from Spotify. Once it loads, you'll see "Audio ready" with the track duration. If the fetch fails, click Upload an MP3 to use your own file.

Lyrics — There is no auto-detection. You'll need to paste your lyrics manually into the lyrics text box. Copy them from a lyrics site or your own notes and paste them in, one line per line.

⚠️ Long lyric lines warning: If any of your lines are too long for certain visual styles, Soundlink will flag them before you proceed.

You'll need to tick the acknowledgement checkbox before the Sync button activates. Consider splitting long lines into shorter ones for best results.

Once your audio is ready and lyrics are in, click Sync or Continue.

Step 3: Choose a background video

Click the film/clapperboard icon on the right side of the preview to open the "Change video" panel.

  • Catalog — Browse Soundlink's library of curated stock clips. Use the category filters (Nature, Beach/Ocean, Anime/Edits, Cinematic/Shots, and more) or the search bar to find a vibe that fits your track.

  • My Videos — Upload your own clip (MP4 format, max 30MB, between 10–60 seconds, 720p or higher).

Select a clip and click Save.

Step 4: Style your lyrics

The right-hand panel gives you three things to customise:

Lyric styles — Choose from 11 visual templates: Brat style, Wall of text, Wall of text (fill), Solo serif (stretch), Solo serif (caps), Handwritten, Neon, Typewriter, Single word, Cinema, and Minimal. Each style changes how your lyrics are animated and displayed. Click through them to preview the look on your video in real time.

Lyric position — Set whether your lyrics appear at the top, centre, or bottom of the frame.

Lyric size — Choose Small, Medium, or Large depending on how prominent you want the text.

Step 5: Preview your video

Use the controls overlaid on the preview:

  • Play / Pause — Watch your video with lyrics in sync

  • Restart — Jump back to the beginning

  • Mute — Toggle audio on or off

  • Waveform icon — Toggle the audio visualizer overlay on or off

  • T icon — Show or hide the right-hand styling panel

Preview the video at least once from start to finish before exporting.

Step 6: Export or post

When you're happy with how it looks:

  • Download — Save the video to your device and post it manually to TikTok or Instagram

  • Post now — Send it directly through Soundlink's posting flow

Tips for better results

  • Shorter lines display more cleanly across most styles — if a line is flagged as too long, split it at a natural pause

  • The Single word and Brat style templates work especially well for high-energy hooks

  • Pair your posted video with the official TikTok sound for better discoverability when posting manually

  • If Spotify can't fetch the audio automatically, having your MP3 ready beforehand saves time

Known limitations (Beta)

  • Audio fetch from Spotify may occasionally fail — use the MP3 upload option as a fallback

  • Sync timing may need a couple of test runs to feel natural, especially on tracks with irregular phrasing

  • Non-English lyrics display correctly but timing may need manual review after sync

  • Long lyric lines can overflow or feel rushed in certain styles — keep lines concise for best readability
