Am I allowed to have a dashcam in my vehicle? If not, why not?
No. To ensure we provide a consistently reliable and private service for our passengers, dashcams are not permitted in Wheely vehicles.
Many passengers choose Wheely because they trust that their privacy and personal information are protected. Having a dashcam inside the vehicle may compromise this expectation of privacy.
My dashcam complies with RTA regulations. Why is it still not allowed?
Wheely operates as a privacy-first platform, and our standards are stricter than general regulatory requirements.
Even if a dashcam complies with RTA regulations, it is not permitted on the Wheely platform as we prioritise protecting the privacy of both passengers and chauffeurs.
as seen in this article here. We cannot allow for a risk of a breach of privacy.
Do you allow RTA-approved dashcams?
No. Dashcams are not permitted in any vehicles operating on the Wheely platform.
What happens if a dashcam is found in my vehicle?
If a dashcam is found installed or used in a vehicle operating on the Wheely platform, this may lead to termination of the commercial partnership with the chauffeur or partner responsible for the vehicle.
