Twilio Call Recording API
The Twilio Call Recording API allows you to record phone calls made through Twilio's platform. This feature is useful for businesses and organizations that need to keep a record of important phone conversations for legal or training purposes.
HTTP Basic Authentication
Most Twilio accounts come with the HTTP Basic Authentication for Programmable Voice already activated as the default setting. If it's enabled you'll see the Call Recording API login popup, when attempting to access your call recordings in the Dialer.
Why do I need to log in to use the Call Recording API?
Twilio requires users to log in to access the Call Recording API for security purposes. This ensures that only authorized users have access to sensitive call recordings.
I don't know my Login Credentials
To log in will need to use either your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token, or your API Key and Secret Key, as your username and password.
I want to disable HTTP Basic Authentication
To turn off HTTP Basic Authentication in your Twilio dashboard, please refer to the instructions in the Twilio article HERE.
Access the General Voice Settings page in the Console.
Scroll to the "Enforce HTTP Auth on Media URLs" section, and then select Disable.
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click Save.
