Purchasing eligible AAPC code books may qualify you for complimentary CEU courses. However, the CEUs are not automatically added to your CEU Tracker simply because the books were purchased. To receive the CEUs, you must complete the associated course.
Which Books Include CEU Courses?
CEU courses are available for eligible AAPC code book purchases, including:
ICD-10-CM
ICD-10-PCS
HCPCS Level II
AMA CPT®
Eligible purchases may include a complimentary course worth one CEU per qualifying book.
Step 1: Create a Genius Account
To access your CEU courses, you'll first need a Genius account.
Create your account through the Genius registration page associated with AAPC learning courses. Once your account has been created, you'll be able to access available book CEU courses.
Step 2: Register for Your Book CEU Courses
After creating your Genius account:
Sign in to Genius.
Locate the course associated with your purchased code book.
Register for the course.
Wait for course enrollment to be processed.
Course enrollment approval may take up to 1–2 business days (up to approximately 48 business hours).
Step 3: Complete the Course
Once enrollment is approved:
Open the assigned CEU course.
Complete the required training.
Follow the course instructions to earn the CEU credit.
I Purchased the Books but Never Received the Course
If you purchased eligible books but do not see the associated CEU courses:
Verify that you have created a Genius account.
Verify that you registered for the applicable course.
Allow up to 1–2 business days for enrollment processing.
Contact Customer Care if the course still does not appear.
Common Misunderstanding
Purchasing the books alone does not automatically award CEUs.
The CEUs are earned through the associated Genius course that accompanies eligible code book purchases. This is one of the most common areas of confusion for members.
