Create and end a promotion without accidentally changing the store's regular prices.
This guide is for store administrators in Go, Plus, and Pro. A sale price is a separate promotional price. Discount codes and customer group discounts are other features. If an ERP system controls prices, the campaign must be coordinated with that price update.
1. Determine the campaign's products and preserve previous prices
Note the regular prices, existing sale prices, currencies, and which list is used under Catalogue → Pricing → Usage. Copy the affected price lists before making bulk changes if you need to be able to restore their content. A new campaign group is a way to gather the selection, not a discount in itself.
You can create a product group, for example, Black Friday, and add the products to be included. Do not change the products' primary groups just to fit a filter; check how the products are used in the store's navigation.
2. Calculate sale price from regular price
Go to Catalogue → Products. Filter for the campaign group and check that the correct products are displayed.
Select the products to be changed. Check the count, pagination, and that already discounted products that should be excluded are not selected.
Open Perform on selected → Additional operations.
Select Set discount percentage based on regular price.
For example, enter 20 for a new sale price that is 20% lower than the regular price. Save.
The calculation is based on the regular price and can replace an existing sale price. A regular price of 100 and a discount of 20 results in a sale price of 80, even if a previous promotion had a different amount. The feature does not automatically exclude products that are already discounted. Check variant prices separately when variants have their own prices.
When advertising price reductions to consumers in Sweden, show the lowest price in the 30 days before the reduction for goods covered by these rules. Calculate any advertised percentage or amount reduction from that price. The tool calculates from the regular price, so check the advertised discount and displayed reference price before the campaign.
In Enter the discount percentage based on the regular price, enter the discount without a minus sign, for example 20. The minus sign in −20 is used in the separate tool for changing existing price rows. In the discount action, 0 removes the sale price.
If the action cannot be completed because a sale price list is missing, check Catalogue → Pricing → Usage → Sale price for the correct store. Review the content before selecting a list.
3. Change amounts in an existing price list
This is a different workflow: the percentage tool calculates based on the prices already in the opened list. Therefore, reducing a sale price list by 20% is not the same as calculating a 20% discount from the regular price.
Open the intended list under Catalogue → Pricing. Search for the products. A filter can apply to Product group (primary), meaning the primary product group.
Open the group selection.
Select groups and search. Check that all intended products are actually displayed.
Open Tools → Apply percentage change to prices. Enter, for example, -20 for a decrease or 10 for an increase, per currency. Select rounding and check Only apply to prices in current filter selection if only the selection should be affected. Select Apply change.
Rounding is done upwards according to the selected precision. An empty currency input leaves that currency without a percentage change. Make sure you are not working in the regular price list when the intention is a temporary campaign.
4. Start, check, and end the campaign
Check the correct price list and its usage before the campaign starts. Creating or copying a list does not automatically activate its prices. Also, check any customer group prices and sub-stores.
A scheduled change of the sale price list can specify a start, end, and reset list. Check which usage it applies to. A global change does not automatically change separate customer group connections. Keep the reset list and check the result when the period has expired.
To remove bulk-entered sale prices you can use the same product operation with a discount percentage of 0 for the selected products. This removes their sale price; it does not restore an older sale price that was overwritten. If previous offers are to return, restore the documented prices or the saved list's usage instead.
Never restore a percentage decrease by adding the same percentage. 100 → 50 after −50% becomes 75 after +50%. In case of an interruption, you should read the actual results before a new run. Finally, check a few products, currencies, and variants in the store, including as a logged-in customer when customer groups are used.
Quick start
Save the original prices and select the campaign's products.
Choose a discount from the regular price or a change to an existing price list.
Check the selection, list, currency, and start/end before the change is applied.
Check the store and end by correct removal or restoration.
Subscription
Product prices and regular sale prices are available in Go, Plus, and Pro. Customer groups, multishop, and integration-controlled prices have their own conditions and must be checked when the campaign uses them.
