About Acelab

How much does Acelab cost?

  • Acelab is free for architects and design professionals to use.

Why is the app free for architects and how do you make money?

  • All features on Acelab, including expert help, are free for architects to use. We charge manufacturers a fee for being represented on our platform. We do not sell your personal or project data; manufacturers can only contact you after you have requested information from them first.

Will I see results from all manufacturers/suppliers or only people who pay to be on the app?

  • Acelab includes every building product available in the United States and Canada in the database. Each search category you see on our website has every option available for that product, and we’re always bringing new categories to our site. We’ve designed our platform this way so you can build out a firm library, schedule, or spec that covers your entire project, regardless of manufacturer or brand.

How is my data used?

  • Your data is not sold to product manufacturers. Your data is only shared with your consent. For example, when you reach out to a manufacturer, they will have your information. If you sign-up for a webinar, they will also have your information to contact you with your certificate later.

What happens if the app is down?

  • In case of downtime, our team quickly engages to resolve the issue, supported by our reliable hosting on Google Cloud. We ensure minimal disruption and provide continuous updates via our website and email. Our infrastructure is designed for resilience and rapid recovery.

Will I ever lose all my data / product searches?

  • Your data, including product searches, is securely stored on AWS servers, renowned for their robust data protection. With real-time synchronization and automatic backups, the risk of data loss is significantly minimized. In the rare event of system issues, our AWS-powered recovery processes are designed to restore your data swiftly.

How is the data backed up?

  • We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for regular, encrypted backups of all user data. This includes comprehensive backups of your product searches and project information, stored across multiple AWS data centers for enhanced security and reliability. This system ensures your data is always protected and readily available.

Is my information secure?

  • Yes, your information is secure with Acelab. We adhere to GDPR standards, ensuring high-level data protection and privacy. Our systems use advanced encryption and undergo regular security audits. We comply with international data protection laws, guaranteeing the safety of your data.

About the Product Concierge

How do I work with a Product Expert?

  • Live chat: Our in-house team of architects and designers are available by live chat from 9am - 5 pm PST. Reach them with quick questions instantly.

  • There are various spots throughout the app where you can reach out for recommendations. These requests are routed to the team of experts who will then reach out with additional questions or next steps. You can also connect with the team via the in-app chat where your request will also be routed to the appropriate team member.

What is the Product Concierge?

  • The Product Concierge is a free program, currently. It allows your team to benefit from additional ‘fire-power’ by working directly with Acelab’s team of experts. The concierge can help you find the right products for the right project. To see if your team qualifies, schedule a meeting with our team here.

Why is the Product Concierge free?

  • The Product Concierge is currently free because it provides Acelab with an opportunity to test various flows in the app while providing a benefit and service to your team. It is a mutually beneficial relationship.

About Support

How do I get started?

  • Please see the Getting Started guide and book a free 30-minute free onboarding session here. In this session, our team will dive into the needs of your business and come up with a custom plan to help you get the most out of Acelab.

Who should come to my Onboarding Session?

  • Acelab is a collaborative platform with the ability to leave comments on projects and products. We would recommend key stakeholders from your firm attend to learn more and work with our team to customize a plan that will accommodate your short and long term needs.

What do I need to bring to my Onboarding Session?

  • The best practice recommendation is to come to the session with 1-3 projects that need assistance in product selection. The sessions are recorded, with your consent, and sent back to you, so note-taking is encouraged, but not required.

Do you have a support chat?

  • This is coming soon and will be available on the right-hand side of the screen and is active on weekdays, excluding US holidays, from 9am PST - 5 pm PST.

Can I see if another architect I know would recommend the product?

  • Currently, this functionality is not supported in Acelab. If you have a feature request, it can be submitted via Live Chat and our team will catalogue the request appropriately and share it with the development team.

About working with a Product Manufacturer

How fast can I expect a response from a product rep?

  • Product reps on Acelab respond within a timely manner. There may be slightly longer response times depending on the complexity of your ask as well.

How do I get pricing information?

  • Pricing information is not currently hosted on the site. The best way to get pricing information is to click the ‘Request Information’ button on a product and then select ‘Price Information’ from the pop-up.

How do I get information on lead times?

  • Lead times can vary widely, so the best way to find the most current information is to click the ‘Request Information’ button on a product and then select ‘Lead Time’ from the pop-up.

I have a product that I always use, but there isn’t a product rep on the site?

  • Acelab is always looking to grow the number or product reps on the site. If you have a recommendation, please let the team know via the support chat. This information will then be shared with the Manufacturer Partnership team who will reach out.
