Installing and Initializing the Ackroo Gift & Loyalty POS Application on Ingenico iWL Terminals

Supported Models:

  • iWL220

  • iWL250

  • iWL255


Before You Begin

Ensure the following prerequisites are met before installation:

  1. Read all instructions to familiarize yourself with the process.

  2. Verify terminal model is an Ingenico iWL220 (or compatible iWL series).
    If unsure, contact Chase Paymentech Help Desk: 1‑800‑265‑5158.

  3. Confirm internet connectivity (high-speed) on the terminal.
    If unsure, contact Chase Paymentech Help Desk.

  4. Locate the Ackroo USB key from your Welcome Kit.
    If missing, call Ackroo: 1‑866‑815‑3428.

  5. Perform manual settlement to close any open batches (refer to your iWL Terminal Guide).

  6. Check terminal app versions for TSA, Chase, and Core App:

    Application Minimum Version TSA 210 Chase 220 Core App 373

    If any version is lower, contact Chase Paymentech Help Desk.


Installation & Initialization Steps

  1. Power down the terminal: Press Clear/Back + # simultaneously.

  2. Attach USB key via USB-to-micro-USB dongle on the terminal’s side port.

  3. Power up: Press the Green (Enter) key. When the smiley face appears, press and hold F4.

  4. Release F4 when "USB MASS STORAGE" appears on-screen.

  5. On-screen menu:

    1. Press 2 for Download.

    2. Enter Group ID: 10, then press Enter/OK.

    3. Enter Password: 167349, then press Enter/OK.

    4. Press 1 for Full Download.

    Warning: If prompted “All Files Will Be Cleared From Group 10,” press 1 to cancel and 3 to reboot. Then contact Ackroo for instructions.

  6. Press Purple 1 to scroll down.

  7. Press 2 for USB Flash Memory, then 1 for Yes.

  8. Remove the USB key.

  9. Press Enter/OK to complete installation; the terminal will reboot.

  10. Launch Ackroo App: From the Payment menu, select Third Party (use F3 to scroll if needed), then select .

  11. Activate terminal with a 6‑digit PIN (see Terminal Activation PIN guide):

    • Go to https://pin.ackroo.com, sign in, select Business, Location, Receipt, and Menu profiles, then click Continue.

    • Use the generated PIN on the terminal to initialize the app.

  12. Ready to process Ackroo Gift & Loyalty cards!


Troubleshooting

Issue

Cause & Solution

Third Party menu not visible after reboot

Chase or Core App is out-of-date. Contact Chase Paymentech to update.

"NETWORK ERROR" when launching the app

Terminal lacks high-speed internet. Verify connection.
